Boom Boom Pow

Toy: Press three letters to make a word.
J: B....U....T
Toy: Butt! Wahoo!
Boys: (laugh uproariously)

D: I didn't make my day. It just turned into a warming of house party.

J: I'm a ninja; watch me fly!

Me: Little boys, on the way home we're gonna stop and get stuff to make a cake for Daddy's birthday.
J: Yaaaay!
D: Nooooooo! It's my birthday!

D (at a passing semi): OH DUDE C'MON!!

Littles: We want to play in outer space!
Me: What's in outer space?
J: EXPLOSIONS AND PLANETS!

J was looking over my shoulder at a video starring a very large, black man ~
J: Who is that? D? Me? C?

D: Is that orange juice? Is that orange juice? Is that orange juice?
Me: No, it's pickle juice.
.... hours later
D: Mom, I need more pickle juice.

J: Where going now?
Me: Home.
J: Back to the Treehouse and eat Daddy's cake!

D: JJ, you can have English muffin OR cake. That's what you can have.

(1/12) Work day for us & school for the boys.  The boys coughed and snarfed their way through the day today, and Dad says he's starting to get sick too.  Bah!

(1/13) Blarg.  Everyone is sick.  I kept the boys all home from school today.  We missed the field trip with the littles' preschool to the fire department... but a day in our PJs was much needed.

(1/14) Work day for me, and the boys are home hacking.  C was able to return to school at least.  I even have the plague, and I rarely get sick.

(1/15) Work from home day for me.  My office closed early, and it was nice to have a quiet evening with the fam.

(1/16) The boys didn't have ice today, so I caught Zumba class in the morning, and then we ran errands until it was time to go to the Tips game vs Seattle with friends to kick off Dad's b-day weekend.  We won 5-1.  Boom!  Thanks to Nanan for watching the littles!

(1/17) Lazy Sunday home with the boys while Dad worked.  We watched Despicable Me several times, and discovered it definitely works better when you put the right disc in. Whodathunk?  It's a nice change from mainlining Home... though I'm sure it will get old soon.

Feelin' the love today.... "No Mom allowed.  NO MOMS. GO AWAY!"
(1/18) Happy birthday to Dad! He had to work, and then C had hockey, but the rest of us were on holiday.  We hit the gym in the morning and then the grocery store to get cake fixins, because logical.  The littles picked out 8 candles and a letter D for Dad for his cake.

(1/19) Amanda and her kiddo both had the flu, so I ended up staying home with the boys.  D was a pistol today, and I was glad to drop them at preschool for a bit.  Though his teacher said he was full of ornery juice there too.  Sigh.  To conclude our night, he discovered Dad's cologne and had been in time out about 30 times.

(1/20) The littles didn't have school today due to conferences.  Their teachers had positive things to say about them, and what nice kids they are.  I took them out to the park and we played there until it was just too cold.  I brought them home and warmed them up with hot chocolate.  Granddad came over tonight and watched the kiddos while Dad and I went out to sushi for a belated birthday dinner.  Yum!

(1/21) Work day for me, and Dad had the boys.  He took them to all to hockey and I attended a membership meeting for the school.  Long & busy day for sure.

(1/22) Worked from home today while the littles thundered above my head.  I had book club with the ladies tonight and I think we can safely say that this is the least we've ever discussed a book. LOL!

(1/23) Hockey day for the boys.  C's team trounced the opposing team in this morning's game.  The littles had an absolutely lousy practice.  But whatever, we were there, and they were on the ice. The rest of the day was filled with errands and cooking, and finally I left for a party with the girls.

(1/24) Lazy Sunday with my peeps.  They're having a campout in my living room today complete with sleeping bags. It's pretty cute.

Home Is Where the Heart Is

Me: That's not a good hill to go down.
D: Yes it is! I need you to walk away now.
Sarah: Yeah, I think your mom's right.
D: And you too need to walk away!

J: I am gonna be first to play the DS!
Me: D asked first, so he gets to go first.
J: And then I get to be first again!

Dad: What do you want on your broccoli?
D: Wine.
Dad: What?
D: Lime.
C: Oh, I thought he said wine.
Dad: That's what I thought too!
D: That's because it's the magic word!

D: Mom, I didn't make my day. It just turned into a zombie!

Me: Good morning!
D: No!
Me: Are you awake yet?
D: I DON'T LIKE TO! That's rude!

C is watching House Hunters ~
J: I need to watch Home!
C: JJ, I am watching houses.
J: Mom!  I need you to change the houses into Home!

C: What I really don't like is the arch over the door.
Me: We're not remodeling your room, kiddo.
C: I just want to extend my room over the stairs because it isn't big enough.

J: Your *mumble* cute.
Me: I'm cute?
J: Sure.
Me: Who's cute?
J (points at me): Your eyes cute.

(1/5)  Work and school day for all of us.  Today was long and we were all feeling pretty punchy.  Or at least I was... Dad was an awesome cook tonight and brought home pizza.  Pizza always makes things better.

J: Please Mom, I need
to be a superhero!
J: It's a blidge party!
(bridge ~ J's Rs are Ls)
(1/6) Day off for me, and work day for Dad.  I worked in the littles' classroom, and it was such a gorgeous day out that once lunch was inhaled, we went right back outside.  Our sandbox has completely frozen over, and that was big fun for them.

(1/7) Work day for me, and Dad had the kiddos.  He then had to take them all to C's hockey practice, and still beat me home by 2 minutes. I managed to make it to Zumba for like the last 20 minutes. Dear traffic and phone calls at 4:58pm: you're on my list.  Seriously, people, I have places to be!

(1/8) I worked from home today, and Dad had the kiddos. I got my coffee walk/gab time in early with Sarah, and then proceeded to rot my brain by binge watching of Making a Murderer.  Really interesting show!

(1/9) C had hockey early this morning.  He was able to play the entire game and even scored the winning goal!  He finally seems to be back to his old self, and we're so grateful.  The littles went with me to the gym, and then to practice.  Their games start tomorrow, but they still can't even stand on the ice... so, we're gonna bail.  We'll attempt those at another time.

(1/10) We had a lovely lazy day at home today.  C has really gotten in to watching House Hunters, and has all these grandiose ideas for remodeling his room.  He did, however, spend like 3 hours cleaning and organizing it, which was amazing!  After lunch we joined Sarah and her kids at the park to get outside for a bit.  After we went home, the littles painted their train models from their aunt & uncle, and C decorated a mask from the kit he got from Nanan.

(1/11) Monday again.  Work for us adults, and the kids have school.

Masquerade! Paper Faces on Parade....

Sarah: BOYS!
J: Not me!

D reading a book with a Facebook logo on the title page ~
D: Look, Mom, I have an iPod too!

Me: What are you doing?
J: I'm teaching the TV to Home!  (Home is JJ's favorite movie right now)

Me: What're you doing?
J: Gud!

Me: Did you guys have fun at jumping?
J: Sure.

D: But we need to go to Sarah's! We need to go to Sarah's!
Me: We'll go back to Sarah's after we get burritos for the moms.
J: And Coltons!
Me: Colton's not a mom!

J: You have to run slow, Mom.
Me: Okay, J, I'm pretty sure I can handle that.

(12/29) Work day for Dad and me, Grandma & Granddad had the littles, and C was off at a birthday party. I got the littles' snow stuff all together so they could go up and play in the mountains, only to leave the car seats in my car when I left for work. Argh!  I had a short work day today, and C ended up staying the night with his friend, so we had a quiet night to ourselves.

(12/30) Work day for Dad and me, and Amanda had the kiddos.  I worked a short day again today, and was off before Dad, so went and grabbed the kiddos when I was done.

(12/31) The last day of 2015 was awesome!  Nanan came to stay with the boys while we got to go on a date day/night.  We saw the new Star Wars, which we loved.  Then we hit our favorite restaurant for sushi.  And then off to a masquerade for the countdown.  The littles did poppers with Nanan, and C actually made it to midnight this year.

(1/1)  Happy New Year!  We relieved Nanan and were home for a little while before packing up the twinsies to go to Grandma & Granddad's house while the three of us went to a hockey game.  Tips won! Woohoo!

(1/2) I managed to catch JJ's cough, so decided on a long walk with Sarah this morning instead of a run.  It was super slick out, so that was probably a good choice.  Cass-puppy (aka Ser Floppin) flopped, snow-plowed, and slid all the way down the big hill while I picked my way down slowly.  Cracked me up!  I'll have to video it next time.  After I got home, Dad went out to run some errands and I got to work getting Christmas put away.   C has been having a grand time making robots out of all the things in our recycle bins... which is great, until all the scraps are ALL.OVER.THE.FREAKING.PLACE.  Drives me batty to have the house so out of order.  I dragged the book shelf back up for the boys to put all their new books away.  They were so excited; it was so cute!

(1/3) Sarah and I took our boys to Elevated Sportz to jump and give ourselves 90 minutes of peace to chat.  It mostly worked. From there, we went back to her house and fed the boys all the mac & cheese in the house, while us moms had take-out Mexican. The boys got all the remote-controlled vehicles and made quite the ruckus.  We watched it attempt to snow for a little while.  Sure was beautiful while it lasted.  We eventually went home to host one last Christmas at the house this evening, and had my mom, brother, & sister-in-law over for dinner.  And now, I'm ready to close the books on Christmas last year!

(1/4) The littles scored a snow day, since schools in our area were running 2 hours late. I guess it was snowing like crazy at home, but we had nothing when I got to work.  Womp, womp.
