On Your Mark

(1/6) Work and school day for all of us today. I met up with Sarah at lunchtime for a walk since she's home for a few days. I need to bring back my lunchtime walks now that the kiddos aren't here and needing something every few minutes.

(1/7) Woohoo, Friday! We made it! It started hailing when I picked the kids up from school. Seriously weather, I don't want more snow! We all survived the first week back, and the kids have both said how nice it is to be back with their friends. Hope it continues!

(1/8) Dad and C went up to Rob's to work on what will be C's car when he is ready to drive (hold me) and Sarah and I went for a coffee walk. I came home with my vat of coffee and felt properly caffeinated to tackle the twins' dressers. I have done ALL the laundry over the last few days, and went through everything to pull out the too small stuff and move the shorts to the back to hopefully stop them from grabbing them (hello? It's winter?). I took out two huge bags and their dressers are still full, but all the socks fit and are matched, so we should be able to get off to school without a daily meltdown? Maybe? I finally made an appointment to donate blood and dropped off the clothes and then went and got my cookie and juice.

(1/9) Today was a pretty lazy day. I did the maintenance on my treadmill that was sincerely overdue, and then went out to run some errands. Sarah messaged and wanted to know if I wanted to go for coffee in the sunshine (uhm, YES!). We had a nice walk and then came home to have a pretty chill evening at home with the fam.

(1/10) What a difference a week makes. No snow to delay school and everything's running on-time. Sarah wasn't available for our morning walk, so I slept in this morning and got to ease into my day. I have been loving the quiet with the kids at school and can get a lot done when I only have to look after myself.

(1/11) Today was a work and school day for everyone. Meeting Tuesday was jam-packed and I had wall to wall meetings. But it was fun getting to talk about our welcome back party, you know, when we finally get to be back together all in the same room. If that ever comes...

(1/12) I had the day off but still got up early to go walking with Sarah. It was rainy and gross out, so we power walked an abbreviated loop and came home to dry off. I got the boys off to school and then came home for a little bit before leaving to go pick them all up and take them to the dentist. Do I know how to party or what? I grabbed them lunch and then took them back to school and then came home to enjoy a few hours of quiet.

(1/13) Today was a work and school day for all of us. I'm glad I had to run to the store this afternoon and caught such an amazing sunset! Yay for the days getting longer!

(1/14) J had to return to the dentist this morning and lobbied hard for a special breakfast afterward ~ sorry dude, it's kind of hard to eat when half your face is numb. He had a rough afternoon and was definitely relieved to come home.

(1/15) We designated this weekend to celebrate Dad's birthday. I went and grabbed a pie from Snohomish Pie Co and then Dad and I went out to a new-to-us distillery for a tasting. We were blown away and came home with some goodies to share. We stopped a few other places and had ourselves a fun afternoon.

(1/16) We went to Scuttlebutt for lunch today. The kids all ordered off the adult menu and we came home stuffed to the gills. The boys opted to stay home instead of going to the Tips game this afternoon so Dad and I got to enjoy a great game by ourselves.

(1/17) Monday again? Didn't we just do this? We all had work and school today. And that's all I have to say about that.

(1/18) Happy Birthday to Dad! Unfortunately we all had to work or school today, so I'm glad we celebrated over the weekend. We made a cake for him to have after an absolute bear of a day.

(1/19) I had the day off today and did a whole lot of nothing. Dad took Toffee to the vet for her annual exam, so she was very subdued all night.

(1/20) Back to the grind with work and school for all of us today. It was a breakfast for dinner kind of night. It's an quick and easy meal after a long day.

(1/21) Today was a work and school day for the boys and me. Dad only had to go into a meeting briefly and then had the day off. His schedule will be changing beginning Sunday so they gave him some time off to compensate. J was exhausted by this week and just wants to have the perfect lazy day. I told him tomorrow's the day--they don't have to go anywhere!

(1/22) Sarah and I went for a venti & a vent this morning. Covid is going bananas again and it's scary. I ran C in for his booster this morning after we got back and then was going to take him up to Rob's so he and Dad could work on the car, but they were out junkyarding so he opted to come home. I bought the boys lunch, dropped C, and then headed to Sky Nursery to pick up some color. Now watch, it'll probably snow. I always buy plants too early.

(1/23) Dad had to work today and the rest of us bummed around the house and did a whole lot of nothing.

(1/24) Sarah and I met at dark thirty for our walk this morning. We're socked in by fog for the next few days. It's eerie to hardly be able to see car lights in the distance. We all had work and school today. It was so quiet and I got a lot done. Love those kind of days!

(1/25) Meeting Tuesday was jam-packed for me. My work's site was having issues, so we got all the meetings out of the way and still had to wait a bit for the site to work again. Yay, technology! Love it when it works; pain in the backside when it doesn't.

(1/26) I had the day off today and the men had work and school. Sarah and I bailed on our morning walk today and I had myself a proper lazy day. D had a doctor's appointment this morning--poor guy was having a rotten day, but managed to turn things around after he returned. We went to the store to pick up some treats after school and that helped lift everyone's mood.

(1/27) I got to sleep in until 6:30a this morning before getting up and seeing C off to the bus and getting some gogo juice brewed before work. Dad had the day off and it was his turn for the dentist today. So much fun. Other than that, it was a pretty typical Thursday around here.

(1/28) Work and school for the boys and me and Dad had the day off. We had an office happy hour this afternoon over Zoom. It was so nice to see everyone! We're all hangin' in there during this latest surge. Now we're on to comparing notes for those that have gotten covid. Bleh. Plague be gone!

(1/29) We had the kids over for dinner today for a very belated Christmas. It was so good to see S & S! I completely failed to take any pictures today, but Dad did up a ham and we did crockpot stuffing. For dessert, a lemon cake. We told the boys they will be uncles in June. J said "Nice!" right away, lol. We'll see how he feels come baby time.

(1/30) We had a pretty chill Sunday. Sarah and I figured we ought to start training for our upcoming 5k, so did a three mile walk around the neighborhood. Good thing we got it done before the rain hit, because hit it did! I had book club this afternoon and got a bunch of new recommendations. Other than that, I finished up the book I'd been reading and tried to get caught up on my photo a day list.

(1/31) Work day for Dad & me today and the boys got the day off from school for a teacher workday. So nice turning those alarms off for the day! I've been cramming and got all my monthly photo-a-day shots in these last couple of days. I always think about stopping, but it does keep me taking pictures, and I'd lose my streak of monthly wrap-up posts, and I do enjoy looking at them as the years roll by... So I start the month off all gung-ho only to have it drop off and the cycle repeat.

(2/1) Busy day of meetings for me today. I had my annual review at work just as our website was throwing a fit, so it turned out to be a good time for it. My review went great and I am def a happy camper! We'll have to celebrate this weekend.

(2/2) Groundhog's Day! The ol' hog is predicting six more weeks of winter. I knew if I bought flowers that would happen, lol. I had nothing on my schedule and sat down to read my book and promptly fell asleep for a few hours. I must have needed it! After school, I picked the boys up and ran them to the store for some treats and caffeine. We needed a lil pick-me-up. I also furthered our sugar coma by baking banana bread tonight.

(2/3) I had to work today but needed to give Dad a ride to and from an appointment and the kiddos to/from school. It felt like I spent half my day in the car.

(2/4) Work and school for the boys and me today and Dad had the day off. He took the boys for hair cuts after school today. They're looking sharp!

(2/5) We had a lovely Saturday. Sarah and I coffee walked a 5k this morning in preparation for our upcoming run. I came home and Dad and I left a bit later to go pick up our wine and have a date day! The boys had a day of sloth and were happy as clams!

(2/6) We had Nanan over and finally got to do our Christmas together. She also went to her first hockey game with us to see Noodle run on the ice. He came in second again, and then tried to bolt out the Zamboni door. We ran into Uncle Jake there too, and that was so fun! J didn't really want to go and was pretty sulky but his 'tude changed right around when he heard his cousin was there!

(2/7) I ended up running a spotty J in to the doctor this morning which turned out to be hives. He had had them last week, but they had virtually faded away and were now back with a vengeance. He'll be out for a few days while we sort out what's going on. Poor buddy. He felt so bad that he was out sick and left a few of his chocolates for D (who still had to be at school).

(2/8) Dad had a short shift today and the boys and I had our regular school/work days and J was home. Toffee had her qualifier for the Great Small Dog Races tonight, but she was pretty scared with being in this strange space with all the other corgis. She was first matched up with last year's champ, and then eliminated when she ran a second time. Maybe next year!

(2/9) I'm on vacation for a whole week! We have a lil fun for the weekend planned, but I'm looking forward to reading lots of books and catching up on some sleep the most.
