Like Ducks to Water

D: This song really dooms me.  Only Cake By the Ocean.
(D is in love with that song... I ended up buying a clean workout version for him to listen to, lol)

D: You need to hold my hand because my tummy hurts.
Me: Aw, I'm sorry.  Why does your tummy hurt?
D: Because my hand is empty!
Melt!

J: I want to go to Sarah's house!
Me: Her new one or her old one?
J: Her new one!
D: Her old one is just gonna be for me, J.

(6/21) Work day for Dad and me, school for C, Amanda had the littles, and the teenager is already enjoying summer break.  We've had to start locking our room door, because Moose comes barging in - the handle is right at Moose head level and he just comes in whenever he feels like it.  The down side to this, is that once you lock yourself out, you're out!

(6/22) Last day of school for C today.  After I ran him to school, the twinadoes and I went to the gym. We then went home and grabbed the teenager to pick up foodage for a picnic at the lake.  We took so long picking out lunch that we only had a little while to eat before we had to go pick up C from school.  We made a quick stop by home and got our swim stuff, floaties, and sand toys, and went back out to the lake for some fun!  We played there until it was time for dinner.  Dad took us out to Black Angus, which was delicious.  Poor C had an upset tummy tonight at dinner. Seems to be making the rounds through our fam.  The teen went back home tonight.  It was fun to have her!

(6/23) Work day for me, and the Dad had the boys.  He met me at the gym with the littles this evening, and then took C to hockey.  I promised the boys that they could have ice cream right before bed again if they stayed in bed, and it worked!  This time, anyway.

(6/24) Work day from home for me, and Dad had the boys.  The Cass-puppy and I walked our new coffee route and checked out our 'hood.  First time that I've really had a chance to get out and explore on foot. After dinner tonight, the boys and I walked over to see Sarah's new house.  It's beautiful!!  And I especially love that it's so close!

(6/25) Dad and C got up early today to go scout some campsites with friends, so the littles and I hit Zumba, and then I took them to the spray park.  We got home kind of late, but still managed to beat Dad & C.  C had a friend overnight, and they stayed up late playing video games.

(6/26) The boys and I worked in the yard this morning and found lots of worms and bugs.  I took them out for Slurpees, and then we hit the spray park. C was *not* impressed, but had a little bit of fun in there.  I lost track of D momentarily today.  He was lured away by the sound of the ice cream truck and managed to con a parent into buying him one.  Zomg child, you're gonna give your mother all the gray hair!

(6/27) Work day for Dad & me, and Amanda had the boys.  D told her first thing that he was tired and was going to take a nap after lunch.  He did, and then was still up at 10pm when I went in to open his window back up because it was a billion degrees, and he had picked out long sleeved jammies, in addition to wearing slippers.

(6/28) Work day for Dad and me.  We broke in the newly put together table and had dinner outside tonight.  It was so beautiful out!  I took the kiddos to the park afterwards, and ended up coming back shortly after we got there because D had to go potty.  Then after we went back, J needed to go.  I gave up and just put them to bed after that. Some days...

(6/29) The lady at the gym daycare asked if C was the twins' cousin because she didn't realize there were more of them.  Ha!  He's usually in school, so doesn't come with me on Weds mornings.  After Zumba, we ran up to Nanan's house and she watched the boys while I worked in the garage.  The boys had a blast- we couldn't find the pump to blow up the big pool, but Nanan had 2 plastic pools, and a toddler-sized slide.  Voila, instant water slide! The boys had a song war allllll the way up, and allllll the way back between Stressed Out and Cake By the Ocean.  C only likes the former, and D only likes the latter.  J idolizes C right now, so was with him on his song choice.

(6/30) Work day for me, and Dad has the boys today.  C has hockey later, so Dad will hand off the twins to me at the gym tonight.

I Like to Move it, Move it!

D: If we fill the tires with TNT, then we would have a flat tire.
Me: Yeah, I don't think I would want to drive the truck with tires filled with TNT.

D: What are we having for dinner?
Me: Something with tatoes; you'll like it!
J: I just want lobster.

J: I hungry. You need to take us to ice cream, Mom.

C: I can't believe it's our second day here and we're still moving.

Nanan: Be sure to bless each part of the house as you clean it so the next owner gets a blessed house.
Me: Is it okay if I flip it off?
Nanan: Sure! That's one way to bless it.

D: I want a mint! Dad told me to have a mint! Who's the guy that gets the mints?
Me: I'm the guy that gets all the mints!

J: *farts*
D: Who did that?
J: *points to me* Mooooom!!!

J: I a puppy! I a ninja!

(6/7)  Work day for Dad & me, school for C, and the littles were with Amanda.  We FINALLY got our keys to the new digs.  Not that we're impatient in the slightest!

(6/8) The littles and I went to Zumba this morning, and then ran our plants over to our new house. We made sure the disco lights still worked, and then went down to the playground and "hiked" the walking trails behind.  I think we're going to love it here!  Lots more packing to do, but we're getting there!

(6/9) Busy day taping up the new place for interior painting.  Dad has some pretty grand plans ~ just hope we can get it all done! We worked allllll day, and Nanan watched the kiddos.  D found his dad's razor during all the chaos and gave himself a haircut.  He has been super challenging lately, and all I could do was laugh when I saw it.  Every kid does it at some point, right?  We ended up at McDonald's play place tonight to let the hooligans (safely) run, and then I put some exhausted boys to bed as soon as we got home.

(6/10) Finished up packing today, and we're all set to have the movers come tomorrow.  We also finished painting today at the new place. The gang completed all the bedrooms and the downstairs.  It looks fantastic!

(6/11) Moving day!  I'm sooooo happy we hired movers.  They disassembled all the furniture, loaded it on the truck, and reassembled it all in our new location.  Saved us so much time, and saved our backs! I don't think we will ever try moving ourselves again.  It's just not worth it.  We unpacked most of today, and then went out for victory sushi.  Because, sushi!

(6/12) Yeesh... this house comes with a steep learning curve. D let himself and the dogs all out the front this morning while I was upstairs.  He was most of the way down the street on the way to the playground before he realized he couldn't find his brothers, to neither of which did he tell where he was going.  Thankfully, my pooches came right back in, but I was the crazy lady running down the street in her pajamas early this morning.  I came back to find that the dog messed in the house, and that someone had closed and locked one of the bathroom doors. I actually had to watch a video on how to pick our new locks, all the while D kept letting the dogs out for "walks" ... at least out the back this time.  I took my crazies out to lunch where there was an enclosed playground for a few minutes of sanity, after we had run a few more errands.  I'm stocking up on duct tape for a certain little boy.  Oh. my. goodness.

(6/13) Poor C woke up with a stomach ache, but I sent him to school anyway.  He then got bonked on the head at recess, and felt even more lousy.  Dad ended up grabbing him and bringing him to work while we finished our days. I worked at the old house tonight, scrubbing walls and cleaning out any areas we had left. Dad took the littles to a make-up hockey practice, and we are officially done til summer camp. Huzzah!

(6/14) Work day for Dad & me.  Everybody and their brother decided on pizza tonight.  C'mon people, it's Tuesday! Taco night, not pizza!  Anyway, I got home with dinner late, but it was all devoured quickly.  Dad moved the trailer over to Granddad's place while we get our garage organized, and so we can clean up the front lawn of the old place. Thanks for hosting it temporarily, Granddad!

(6/15) We booked it over to the old house today to meet the carpet cleaners.  I loaded up the contents of our shed into the truck as they worked, and then ran some things over to Value Village.  Then back to the house to meet our realtor for a walk-through, and once finished there, we headed home to continue unpacking and adjusting where everything should live.

(6/16) I have the next two days off to really scrub our old house, and get it ready to put on the market.  Nanan came to watch the twinsies while Dad and I cleaned and made dump runs. I worked all the way up until it was time for C to go to a make-up hockey practice.  I came home, saw the twins for a bit, and crashed after a long day.  My pedometer said I clocked 5.5 miles today, and I never even left my houses!

(6/17) Nanan came over again to watch the kids, and Dad and I finished up at the old house.  We worked our butts off.  I can't wait to see what the stagers do to the place!  Dad went up to grab the teenager for the weekend this afternoon, and I picked up C and dropped him with a friend for the night.

(6/18) We had our house-warming this afternoon.  I was hopeful to get out and mow the lawn and have people out on our patio, but it was cold and rainy out so we all gathered inside.  Our new house can easily entertain a crowd, and it was fun to have everyone over! I had a great time!

(6/19) Father's Day today ~ Dad left cinnamon rolls for us to have this morning in his absence as he had to work, but met us at Granddad's this evening for a family get together.  Granddad had squirt guns, an awesome sprinkler, the hot tub, and the kids had an absolute blast! So great to have my folks close by.

(6/20) Happy solstice! Longest day of the year, and it's a Monday. Womp, womp. Work day for Dad & me, last week of school for C, and the teenager has a pageant meeting tonight.
