Spring Forward

(2/10) I'm on vacation through next Thursday. I took the day to do a whole lot of nothing, and it was glorious.

(2/11) I packed up the boys and we were pretty much ready to go right when they got home from school. We're headed to Chelan for a lil vacay! We stopped at the 59'er Diner on the way and the boys had milkshakes and Mountain Dew floats. We've never been there before and they had great food! We got in after dark but the boys brought their tablets and the Switch and immediately got everything set and were off playing.

(2/12) We bummed around the condo today. The boys and I went out to tromp around in snow. They had great fun busting up ice underneath the swings and playing on the playground. J had a flare-up of the hives that he's been dealing with after we came back in and was pretty miserable for the evening. I felt so bad. He decided he wasn't going back outside and I couldn't blame him!

(2/13) We drove home today. It was a short trip, but we had fun! The kiddos made their valentine's mailboxes for their parties tomorrow. I've missed these times for them and am so glad they're back in-person this year!

(2/14) Happy Valentine's Day! The kiddos started the day with candy, then went to school where they got a ton more. The aftermath looked like:

(2/15) The kiddos got so much candy yesterday that I had to convince them they needed actual food before school today. Our new mattress was dropped off today. I got to muscle that monster into the house by myself. It's gonna be a challenge to get it and the new frame upstairs!

(2/16) We certainly got our exercise in today. We dismantled our old bed, built our new one, then hauled off the old. I really like our new frame and can't wait to try it out!

(2/17) Today is my last day of vacation. Dad is off today too, and we did exciting things like grocery shop and run errands. I'm gonna have a tough work week with only one day remaining!

(2/18) Back to work with me today. I got caught up on all the things today and got prepped for another a shortened week next week.

(2/19) Dad and I both had the day off and the boys didn't want to go anywhere, so we went out for sushi (don't tell them that though!) and then out to Woodinville to pick up our wine. We stayed for a tasting and then gradually made our way back home. He and I also went to the Silvertips game tonight by ourselves because the kiddos didn't want to go. It was a great game and we loved the dog races!

(2/20) We decided to run over to the grands' for the boys' mid-winter break over Presidents' Day weekend. The grands were off on a trip of their own and were due to get in this afternoon. I totally didn't think to check the ferry schedule since it was Sunday, and there was a two hour wait because they were down to one boat. I looked and it wouldn't have saved us that much time to drive around, so we sat. Grandma made us dinner when they found out how late we'd be. They had just gotten home too, so it all worked out. We broke out the ice cream and had floats, played the Switch and Sorry Sliders, and had a fun evening.

(2/21) We went to the Naval Undersea Museum today and let the boys press ALL THE BUTTONS! It was pretty interesting for the rest of us not so keen on button punching too. After we got back, we had some lunch and then the grands and I went on a nice walk out to the marina and along the beach. We grilled up burgers and dogs tonight and played in a Sorry Sliders tournament. We had floats again tonight where I again passed on the cookies and cream cream soda float (bleh!).

(2/22) I had to work today and thankfully can work from anywhere. The boys bummed around and played video games while the grands and I had all our meetings. Grandma made us a fancy lunch and we hit the road early after seeing it was a one boat service day. Thankfully they added an additional boat this afternoon and we were there in plenty of time to catch our ride home.

(2/23) Back to school for the boys today, and I had the day off. The return to school was a rocky one for both the twins and there was a lot of moaning and groaning about how awful school was. Sorry, bubs.

(2/24) The boys and I had school and work today, and Dad had the day off. It snowed just a bit overnight. Dad ran what will be C's car to Wenatchee for an emissions test because everything here is so booked up. He was not thrilled with the weather's antics, but made it there and back successfully.

(2/25) Work and school for the boys and me and Dad had the day off. He ran errands and returned with a pie from the Snohomish Pie Co and bones for the doggos. The dogs were in heaven but poor Casserole always gets an upset tummy afterward.

(2/26) Aw, Saturday. Dad and C went up to work on cars at Rob's. D had planned to go with them but the call of staying home and video gaming was too strong. We watched Ghostbusters Afterlife tonight and loved it! Such fun for us 80's kids.

(2/27) The boys and I had a lazy day and Dad had to work. I went out and got everybody's favorite movie candy for movie night #2. We watched Encanto. D stuck around for as long as his candy lasted and then snuck away. C, J and I liked it. Very cute.

(2/28) Monday again? We all needed more weekend, but managed to get through it.

(3/1) Work and school for us all today. It was a busy Meeting Tuesday, but the grands happened to be in town and asked if I could meet them for lunch--I had the hour free (surprisingly!) and met them at Ivar's for fish and chips. Yum! So good to see them!

(3/2) I ran up to Nanan's house today and helped her get some issues straightened out. We had a nice time and got a lot accomplished. Fingers crossed she'll have an easier time of it for a while now.  I made it home in time to pick up the boys. C made his famous shrimp fried rice for dinner. It was amazing as usual.

(3/3) Today was a work and school day for the boys and me. Dad was off and spoiled me with beef banh mi sandwiches for lunch. Delish! We got a new mattress topper for our bed, and the Yimmy was very unimpressed that his sleeping spot was disturbed.

(3/4) Work and school for the boys and me today. Dad booked some time to work on C's car at a garage, so they did that and we all chose different places to order dinner. I hit Jersey Mike's and Panda Express for the twins and me and Dad and C opted for 5 Guys. Once we were all home and the boys were in bed, we watched trashy TV and had a quiet evening.

(3/5) Sarah and I went for a walk and then jumped in the car to head to the expo to pick up our bibs for tomorrow's event. It's been a long time since we've done a race and we're excited! Dad got called into work and was gone by the time I got back and through dinner. Harrumph.

(3/6) Sarah and I got up at our normal dark-thirty walking time and took our walk to Seattle for the Hot Chocolate 5k this morning. We planned to run it, but our training hasn't been so great, so we settled on a nice walk with the goal to stay in front of the sweeper. The treats at the end were fantastic!

(3/7) Work and school for us all today. I called out around mid-afternoon not being able to keep my eyes open. Apparently I needed some sleep and felt much better by the time evening rolled around.

(3/8) Work and school for us all today. It ended up being a quiet day and all my meetings were rescheduled. Can't complain about that!

(3/9) I had the day off today and "slept in" until 6:30a when I got up to see C off to school. Dad and I tried to go to Costco but got there an hour before they opened so I went back later in the day. I took the boys to the store to celebrate two weeks of rock star behavior charts at school for J and a solid effort for D. They picked out their treats and we went home so they could video-game their little hearts out.

(3/10) Work and school for the boys and me today and Dad had the day off. Sarah and I met around lunchtime to walk to Starbucks. It was beautiful out, but still very cold!

(3/11) The boys and I had school and work and Dad had the day off. Today moved along at a snail's pace and I was so glad to shut off my computer by the end of it. We started watching The Adam Project tonight, which was so good, but I had to pause it because I just couldn't keep my eyes open. We'll enjoy it tomorrow too, I'm sure!

(3/12) I ran some errands this morning and came home with more spring flowers. We're late enough now that it shouldn't snow (hopefully, lol). I did some planting and rearranging and tried in vain to outwit the darned squirrels. I'm about ready to douse the bird feeders in siracha.

(3/13) Oh yay, daylight savings. I told the boys they couldn't leave their rooms until 7a, knowing full well their clocks aren't smart and wouldn't advance. J wandered down finally around 9a and fell asleep on the couch. He's normally up with the birds on the weekend and was really offended that the day went so fast.

(3/14) Yawn! Why do we do this? I just wish they'd pick a time and stick with it! The upside to the day was that it's PI DAY. Dad got us a pie for dessert. It definitely hit the spot.

(3/15) Shew, what a roller coaster day. Was it a full moon? Holy. Cannoli. Tomorrow better simmer on down.

(3/16) I'm off today and all the men have work and school. Today was much improved ~ maybe it was only better since I got out of the house and ran a bunch of errands, but I'll take it. I came home to a lovely bouquet of flowers from my dad. He buys them for me every St. Patrick's Day.

(3/17) Happy St. Paddy's Day! The leprechauns stopped by last night and left the kiddos some goodies. J came down decked out in green and excitedly put on all his new necklaces. Dad made shepherd's pie for dinner with fried cabbage and soda bread. It was delicious!

(3/18) TGIF! I spent my work day filming tutorials, which always, always takes longer than I think it will and should. Oy. I was looking through my Timehop memories and I was doing the same thing last year at this time too. Must be the season.

(3/19) Dad, D, and C went up to work on C's car at Rob's this morning and it was really quiet here with just J and me. We learned our fave Mexican restaurant is closing so splurged and ordered from them one last time tonight. Dinner was amazing!

(3/20) The other day J pointed out that he was busting out of his shoes so I took him to the store. We didn't have any luck at the first place and wandered over to Target and bought the first pair we looked at. This was during prime video game time, so I tried to make it quick. I didn't have to twist his arm too much to stop and grab sodas for everyone on the way back though.

(3/21) Everybody had school and work today. Rob stopped by this evening and I had just thrown dinner on the stove but luckily didn't turn it on. We chatted so long the kids kept coming out to ask if I had forgotten that I was making dinner. LOL! I don't think we even sat down to eat until and hour and a half later. Whoops.

(3/22) Oh my gosh! There's a bright orb in the sky! I've been editing videos all day and was so done hearing myself speak. It was nice to take a break and go out to enjoy the sunshine. I suppose we'll be back to winter again here soon, but it's amazing how much the sun lifts my mood.

(3/23) I had the day off today and the men had work and school. C's school was delayed by three hours due to the 11th graders testing so we called him out "sick" in exchange for some work done at home. I took the twinadoes to the store after school to pick out some treats for another great week and then brought them all home where all of us bummed around for the rest of the day.

(3/24) The boys and I had work and school and Dad had the day off. I finished up editing all my work tutorials and got them posted. I'm glad to get that project off my plate! J has been on a book kick lately. He's found all the bear books I used to read to them and has been carting them all over the house. He even read one to Nanan tonight, much to D's displeasure since D was chomping at the bit to get to the book I'm reading to them now. I peeked in on J tonight and he had fallen asleep reading too. Warms a bookworm's heart.

(3/25) I had to work today, C had a normal, full day, and the twins had an early release. Dad was off today and ran all the baby gear up to S. Impending bebe in three months!

(3/26) Dad took C and D up to work on cars at Rob's. J was going to go too but only because donuts were involved. I told him I'd still get him one if he really didn't want to go, so he and I stayed home. After coffee and a donut, I ran to the hardware store for more supplies for my ongoing battle with the squirrels. I picked up some carpet runner and then sat back and enjoyed watching them try to reach the feeder but not have any luck. I'm sure they'll figure something else out though. Other than that, it was a pretty quiet day here.

(3/27) Sarah and I went for a walk this morning. I came home and read for a few hours and then wandered outside in the sunshine to do some yard work. I mowed the lawn and trimmed the salad bar in back so the low-riders don't get lost. D had woken up around 2am this morning and came crashing downstairs and J woke up to check out what was happening. They were a lil tired today after such an early start.

(3/28) It's conference week this week. The twins have half days all week. Lucky ducks! The rest of us aren't quite so lucky and have full schedules.
