Drive for Miles and Miles and Miles

I put up privacy screen on S's door ~
D: It's ugly!
Me: Thanks, D.
D: I can't even see through it!
Me: That's the point.

J: You think my teacher is a pistol?
Me: *busts up laughing* Please don't repeat that. *dies*  It means I like your teacher very much. She's energized and works really well with your class.
Omg, awesome parent right here! 😳

S: I'm going to give you 7 hugs and 7 kisses!
J: I just want 14 hugs and ZERO kisses!

(9/25) I took today off to go pick up S, who will be staying with us for a bit.  The boys had school, so were gone most of the day.  By the time we got home, their day had ended, and it was time to go get 'em.

(9/26) I love driving an hour (one-way) for an appointment that was never actually scheduled, and can't be scheduled until tomorrow. Grump, grump, grump.  Well, today we made lemonade, and decided on breakfast at IHOP, and then a movie.  Crazy Rich Asians was fantastic!

(9/27) I took the day off to go and attend an appointment that did actually exist.  Huzzah for that! Today went pretty smoothly, and we got home in time to get the kiddos from school, and so that Dad could sleep a little longer. He definitely has not seen much sleep these last few days. Dad had a fantasy hockey draft night out with the guys this evening, and made everyone jelly here at home by sending pictures of his food.

(9/28) I made it into work today.  Only two days on this week.  Yeesh.  Dad bought Chinese food for the fam, and took S to the book store while he was out running errands this evening. She found a bunch of neat things that should keep her busy for a bit.

(9/29) J had his first hockey practice in over a year and a half today.  Dad stayed awake to take him, and then crashed as soon as they got home. Dad said J slowly remembered how to skate over the course of the hour, and had a bit of a rough time at the end. But that was to be expected.  I'll wait to see how he really feels after he's had a few more practices. S, D, and I took a field trip out to Bob's farm after lunch to photograph the sunflowers.  They're still so beautiful!

(9/30) I drove S home this morning.  The boys and I didn't do a whole lot today.  It's been a whirlwind week, so it was nice to kick back and read my book.

(10/1) Work from home day for me.  S came back this afternoon. Today was pretty low-key all around, and we stayed in once we were all home.

(10/2) Busy work day for me, and the boys had school.  It cracks me up that as soon as I get home, J wants to go to the park.  Rain or shine.  He's going to be so bummed when it starts getting dark at 4:30p.

(10/3) Therapy Wednesday!  Three out of four kiddos had appointments today.  Plus, I got to start volunteering in the twins's classes.  I read with kids in D's class, and got to help with math in J's. I was bombarded with hugs, since a few of them remembered me from last year. First graders are so cute!

(10/4) Work day for me and the boys had school. We tried to have family movie night tonight, but boys weren't terribly interested in The Addams Family beyond the popcorn we made. I think S enjoyed it though.

(10/5) Work day for me at the office.  Sarah, S, and I went to Pink the Rink this evening.  It was a pretty evenly matched game without a lot of action until the third period.  Tips won 30 seconds into the first overtime.

(10/6) J had hockey this morning, and was really miffed when he couldn't spend the rest of the day attached to the XBox.  Nanan and I took the twins to see The Very Hungry Caterpillar at the Seattle Children's Theatre.  It was super cute, but was a little on the young side for them, and they grew impatient for it to be over.  We decided on "beans and chips" for dinner (which meant Mexican).  D told our waiter that it was almost their birthday, so the staff came over and sang to them.

(10/7) C is doing a 3-lesson intro to curling.  We all really got into it during the Olympics, but the classes have been full up until recently.  It was fun watching him!  After we got home, we bummed around the house, and didn't do a whole lot.

(10/8) Work day at home for me, and school for the boys.  I may have hidden in my room to finish my work day in peace.

(10/9) Meeting-filled Tuesday at work for me, and school for the boys.  Nanan picked the twins up from school and took them out for (early) birthday ice cream, and joined us later for dinner.

(10/10) Busy day for me.  I worked in D's classroom in the morning, came home to drive S to her appointment, then went back to school to work in J's class, then took D to his appointment.  Wee!  100 mile Wednesday!

(10/11) Happy birthday, twinsies!  Seven today.  They had school, to which we took treats.  The twins received four-way remote controlled bumper boats, and they battled against each other this evening.  I'm sure it'll be extra fun when the bigs decide to join in!

(10/12) Work day for me, and school for the boys.  Today was the second time I showed up to work in my workout gear and have had to interact with people. It's pretty casual around here, but not that casual. The fire alarm went off while I was changing too.  It can only get better from here, yes? Happy Friday!
