#TimeSoup

(2/8) School and work for all of us today. It's starting to get a little chilly around our neck of the woods, and the boys came back from the park this afternoon as popsicles. It even snowed a tiny bit tonight. C made us dinner (shrimp fried rice) and did an awesome job!  Toffee had puppy class this evening and loved playing with an Aussie pup--someone who plays just her style.

(2/9) I was thankful that Meeting Tuesday was on the light side today so that I could watch the debate. I was so moved by Rep Raskin and felt the House managers did a wonderful job. I'm looking forward to watching the trial over the next few days. The boys had school. J was thrilled that it was nice out and he could go to the park again after dinner. He came home frozen. We're hearing major snow in the forecast. We'll see if it materializes!

(2/10) Work and school for Dad & the boys and I had the day off. Today was day two of the impeachment trial, so I had the news on alllll day. C came down this evening and asked: "How's politics, Mom?"  Haha. J and I did run down to the park for an hour, and that was nice. We got a few tiny flakes of snow today, but nothing that stuck. We're still hearing SNOPOCOLYPSE for the weekend.

(2/11) Work and school for the boys and me today and Dad had the day off, so I actually got to see him after I got done with work. I watched a lot of the impeachment trial and also had a couple of big meetings so wasn't as glued to it as I was yesterday. We got a few flakes of snow but again nothing stuck. We're now hearing Friday night into Saturday as being when we'll see the most accumulation. It's sure cold enough!

(2/12) Finally Friday! Sarah and I decided to skip our morning walk, but I was already awake and ended up taking my book out for a walk on the tread. Work seemed to drag today, but we had a happy hour, and it was nice to visit with everybody.

(2/13) Now we're talkin'! We got a bunch of snow overnight. The boys were convinced that the sledding track would be all ready and were dismayed to find that they had to start it... as one might expect before 8a. It was super cold and that heavy, dense snow that wasn't great for sliding. But we got the track started, played with our friends, and then came home for a warm-up. We went out again later and some of the neighborhood kids had added a jump to the track. The kiddos all had a great time!

(2/14) Happy Valentine's Day! My crazies were again ready to go out in the snow at 7:30a, but I held them off til 9a when J couldn't stand it anymore and went out to play. D and I joined him, followed by Sarah and her kiddos. They played until they were exhausted and we all came home for lunch. It has snowed all day with no sign of letting up. We got around 11.5" by this afternoon. Dad had to work tonight and had a treacherous commute both ways when it began drizzling and then melting/refreezing.

(2/15) President's Day. The boys and I were off today and we did nothing. It was drizzly and melting outside, so we hunkered down inside. The boys played lots of video games, and I got caught up on some z's and enjoyed my lazy day. Toffee had her last puppy class tonight. She's absolutely in love with the trainer and got a bit jealous when he was working with another dog. We still have lots to work on, but it was a good start for our girl!

(2/16) Meeting Tuesday was packed! I was busy allll day, which meant the day sped by, but also that I was so very done when I finally was able to turn off my computer.

(2/17) Dad and I were off today and the boys had an asynchronous day of schooling which meant they were done pretty early. Dad treated us to cheesesteaks for dinner as a special treat. We were going to watch a movie, but everyone just sort of vanished and did their own thing. We learned today that the boys will get a new teacher for remote schooling next month. Yay, more changes. They love that.

(2/18) Work and school for the boys and me today. It was quiet today which made for a good day to put my head down and get some things done. We got the ball rolling on a re-fi and are very pleased with what we locked in. It's definitely a good time to do it; I just dragged my feet since it's a pain to pull everything together.

(2/19) Work and school for the boys and me today. Dad declared movie night and we watched Spies in Disguise with the kids. It was really cute!

(2/20) Ahhh, Saturday. It was sunny-ish this morning so instead of Zumba, I went for a walk and listened to an audiobook. Today was pedicure day for all the pups. I ordered a new dremel so started working with Toffee and D helped me by feeding her snacks while I worked on her feet. I ordered a new rake too and managed to make a whole new mini-Moose. It's supposed to work well on Corgis, so I figured our Chow-Chow mix would be a good test!

(2/21) The boys and I had a pretty quiet Sunday. I got to spend some QT with my book, and the boys video gamed of course. D's very exciting thing that we did today was to make jello. He now wants to make ALL the jello.

(2/22) Today was a work and school day for all of us. Today and tomorrow will be the last "normalish" days for the twins, as the next three will be asynchronous and mostly independent learning. We'll also maybe?? get to meet their new teacher before they switch over next week? We received high school information for C tonight. This covid business better be done by fall, or he'll be starting in a brand new school online.

(2/23) I had a three hour class this morning, which was super fun to attend while the children were schooling in the same room. I had a couple more meetings and that was my day. It tried to snow again tonight, but luckily didn't get cold enough to stick around. I love it at first, but then I want it to be done.

(2/24) I had the day off and the boys had an asynchronous day so were done early with their school work. I read my book and talked myself out of clearing out the garden beds until it gets a little warmer. J and I went to the park after dinner. I'm loving it still being light out after 6p!

(2/25) I had a busy day at work today, and the boys had minimal work to get through before they were off on their devices. We watched Tron Legacy tonight after hearing about the Daft Punk split earlier this week.  Le sigh.  One of my favorite movies though!

(2/26) Shew, it's been a week! Sarah and I bailed on walking this morning and the extra hour was heavenly. Today was the boys' last day with their current class and D was very sad. His teacher has been spotlighting him on Zoom so he could give the class the "corgi update". Hopefully his new teacher will accommodate this too.

(2/27) We were all off today. The boys video gamed and I spent a lazy morning reading my book. Once Dad was up for the day, he took the boys out for haircuts. It's only been six months, thanks covid. Dad also picked up dinner for us at Jersey Mike's.

(2/28) O.m.g. I am so done with pets this morning! Moose exploded, then Toffee followed suit and pooped, then peed on the couch, and then threw up for good measure (probably because I yelled at her). Potty training is going swimmingly obviously. After I got everything cleaned up and finally got to have some coffee, I locked myself in J's room and finished recording some videos for work while it was quiet. I spent a few hours doing that and once I was done, I treated myself to some trash TV.

(3/1) Shew, March already? The twins started with their new teacher and while that was all happening, I had a four-hour planning meeting with my coworkers. I spent most of my morning muting myself and reminding the twins of what they should be doing. My folks dropped by to bring the kiddos Easter baskets. It was a super quick visit since I was in between meetings, but it's always good to see and hug them!

(3/2) Work and school for us all today. I only had a few meetings today which allowed me to play catch up on some other projects I've got going. I'm off tomorrow and Weds to burn some vacay time, and fully intend to do a whole lot of nothing.

(3/3) I had the day off today and it was an asynchronous day for the boys at school. It was gorgeous out, so J and I went to the park after Dad got up. J asked to pet every dog along the way, and told all seven owners about the menagerie at home.

(3/4) I took the day off to burn some vacation hours. The boys still had school and I may have snuck out of the house under the guise of picking up their school supplies to have a minute by myself. I may have also picked up some more color for the front porch too.

(3/5) Man oh man, what a day! The kiddos' new teacher does things differently and that has sure been an adjustment. We did a lot of math today, and J was convinced his head was going to explode. Mine too, by the end of it!

(3/6) The kids and I hung out at home until Dad got up, and then we took the puppers to the beach. It was beautiful out! Dad went rock hunting and found some new ones to polish. I even found an agate that I hope turns out well.

(3/7) Lazy Sunday for all of us today. We had ALL of the weather today: rain, sun, hail, snow. And every time we thought about maybe trying to go out, it had radically changed again. I finished a book, watched some TV, and that was about it for the day.

(3/8) Work and school for us all today. This transition to a new class has been brutal. There have been so many tears, and it's only Monday. I had some leftover DoorDash credits and decided that if the twins could salvage their day, that we'd have a treat lunch delivered. We ordered teriyaki and sushi and powered through our morning.

(3/9) Meetings, meetings, meetings today for me. I hid in J's room to conduct our full staff meeting and then just muted myself through our later team meetings when I had to be down in the chaos. My office was looking at post-covid life and I'm so ready for it!

(3/10) It was beautiful out, so once the boys were done with live instruction, we ran to the store to pick up a picnic and then went to the Narbeck Wetland Sanctuary. We didn't have any luck at finding painted rocks, but we got outside and got some sunshine! I intended to do some work today but after arguing with the boys over homework I was so done with everything, and gave myself permission to take the day. C attended a Zoom for incoming freshmen tonight. He's going to be in high school next year ~ I can't believe it. Sure hope they can go back in person.

(3/11) School and work for the boys and me today. We signed on our re-fi tonight, in what was a super fast and smooth process! I'm so glad we took advantage of the low rates ~ we got a great deal.

(3/12) Is it really Friday now? I thought all day yesterday that it was Friday and was so disappointed when my alarm rang. D got to present his All About Me slides today and I could hear him during his presentation laughing and talking with his classmates. It even made J want to present his, so he'll do that next week. We have battled so much over homework / new routines lately, so it was good to see them interacting and actually enjoying class time. This week has been a lot, and I was sure glad to put it to bed. Dad bought us a pie from the Pie Co today for Pi(e) Day on Sunday. He was worried that we wouldn't be able to score one, so went early. It was a Girl Scouts' Tagalong cream pie and was so, so delicious!

(3/13) Dad went to sleep early so he could get up and we could leave the house! We hit Snohomish first, but First Street was packed, and as we were trying to find parking, we watched a bunch of anti-maskers with signs to "Free Your Face" walking up and down and decided we didn't need to spend our money there and went to Woodinville instead. It is Taste WA Wine Month, and all the wineries were packed, so while we didn't get in there, we found a few distilleries that were open for tastings. We had a great time and stopped for a sushi dinner.

(3/14) Of course J would be up before the new 7am. Yawn! I played with the puppy, had my coffee, and read my book. Today wasn't as nice as yesterday, so we had a stay home-be lazy kind of day.

(3/15) Work and school for us all today. The kids slept in today (because it's a school day!), and I got an extra half hour of peace when I got home from my walk. Every year it amazes me how tired just losing that one little hour makes everyone.

(3/16) Meetings, meetings, meetings for me today. The boys had school so I hid upstairs where it was quiet.

(3/17) Happy Paddy's Day! I am off today and the boys have an asynchronous day of school. The leprechaun left them some green treats, and I'll be making shepherd's pie for dinner. Yum!
