Well, It's Groundhog Day.... Again

(1/4) It was the mother of all Mondays today. The kids went back to school, I had work, and Dad started his new schedule on graves. Blech! We managed to survive, but it was a trying day.

(1/5) Meeting Tuesday! My day was a bunch of meetings back-to-back. Because Dad is now on graves, I'm working at the kitchen table. Just about every Zoom started off with me: "Hi!" Dogs: "BORK BORK BORK!" Dear doggos: let's get with the program, shall we. I stayed up late to watch the GA election coverage and finally went to sleep when it was mostly in and looking good.

(1/6) Well. And I thought today was going to a be a dull day. Ha! I had the day off, and the kiddos had diagnostic tests so they were working quietly while I watched the electoral votes being read and certified. All the sudden the VP is whisked away, and shortly thereafter a mob descended. I doom-scrolled the rest of the day, taking only a short break to run a couple of errands and totally forget what I originally set out to fetch. I was sidetracked by pretty plants and seeds for my garden beds. I'm anxious to get planting now!

(1/7) Today was a slog trying to focus on work with everything going on. I made it, but can't say I was wholly productive. Dad was off tonight (yay more schedule changes!), so we got to watch our shows and tune out the world for a bit.

(1/8) TGIF! What a week. Today was a work day for me and the boys had school. They had more diagnostic tests this week, and didn't have hardly any extra work beyond that. They were off and video-gaming as soon as they were released today, and I took my work upstairs to hide from the commotion.

(1/9) I was exhausted from the week and glad to have a quiet weekend on tap. I took Zumba this morning out in the garage while the boys played video games quietly until Dad got up. Dad and I thought we were meeting Opa today, but that's actually next week. Since we were already out, we decided on going for sushi. So good!

(1/10) Today was a day of epic laziness. I read my book and puttered around the house. I got some new bird feeders and put those out for the birdies. I really enjoy watching them!  Dad had to work this evening, but he still made us all Snickerdoodle cheesecake bars for dessert. One of our faves!

(1/11) Monday again, and we're back at it. We all had school or work today. After the kiddos went to bed, Noodle and I held down the couch and enjoyed some junk TV.

(1/12) Shew ~ I think I only had 72 meetings today. Holy cow. I was feeling a bit fried by the end and happy to turn my computer off for the day. The boys had school, but again I can't say it was quality schooling. Ahem. They kept coming over and I kept muting myself, saying I was in a meeting, and shooing them away.

(1/13) I had the day off today, and was glad of it! Sarah and I kicked it off with a walk and then I got the boys started on school and flipped on the TV to watch the impeachment. The day was filled with poignant speeches and more of the same lunacy that we've heard for the past four years. Now we'll see what they can do with it once the Senate takes it up. We had a crazy windstorm last night, and I didn't realize Nanan had been without power all day until we went to call her tonight. I looked at the outage map and there were still 329 people in her quadrant affected. Hopefully it won't be much longer!

(1/14) Dad treated us to donuts this morning. I don't know if it was the sugar, or just the Thursday wiggles, but we were awfully loud and Dad wasn't able to sleep during the day. We ended up ordering takeout for dinner, which took extra long and was missing part of our order. Harrumph!

(1/15) TGIF! Man, what a long week. The boys and I had school/work today, and Dad was off. I've resurrected Friday coffee with my coworkers, and that was fun! We don't really get to chat the same way now, and it was good to bring that little piece back. Today was National Hat Day, so we celebrated thusly:

(1/16) I ended up getting up early today. I played with the puppy, read my book, and enjoyed coffee in the quiet til the kiddos got up. I then fell asleep for a few more hours. Apparently I needed it! We met with Opa tonight and ended up bringing pizza and him back to the house. I'm so glad we could get together--who knows when we'll get to again.

(1/17) Lazy day for me and the boys today. D really wanted a mushroom omelet, and since I am not a fan, he got to learn how to prepare his fungi himself. We had a pretty uneventful day. I read my book and the boys video gamed. Same ol, same ol.

(1/18) We were off for Martin Luther King Jr Day, and had a pretty quiet day at home. It was also Dad's birthday, and we made him cake for dessert tonight and got him a cute Corgi Lego set. Toffee started puppy classes tonight. She's very food motivated, and should take to it all well. She came home absolutely exhausted and slept most of the evening.

(1/19) Shew! Today was Meeting Tuesday and I had a bazillion meetings on my calendar. Sales certainly picked up last month and I have a lot on my plate in addition to all the new projects that are just beginning. It's good to be busy though!

(1/20) Happy Inauguration Day! I was so happy to have the day off so I could binge watch all the celebrations and the return to normalcy! I feel as if a great weight has been lifted a little bit and we're going to get the ship righted.

(1/21) The boys and I had school and work and Dad had the day off. Dad and I got to watch some TV together this evening and actually see each other. Shocking, I know!

(1/22) Shew! We made it through another week. Dad was off today and we scored another quiet evening.

(1/23) Aww, Saturday! I got up with the twins and played with the pupper so she'd be able to sleep til Dad gets up and we can be noisy. I took a Zumba class and then settled in with my book. Dad saw a post from the Pie Co that it was National Pie Day, so he zipped on down to pick up a pie so we could celebrate properly.

(1/24) Today was a pretty lazy day for the boys and me. It was drizzly out, so I watched one of my shows out on the treadmill. Dad had to work tonight so I spent an exciting night reading.

(1/25) Work and school for all of us today. I've been slammed at work, which is great and means things are movin and shakin', but it also means I'm busy-busy-busy. I've been putting my headphones on and trying to ignore everything and power through.

(1/26) Meeting Tuesday was a busy one. I stayed up far too late binge watching Pretty Little Liars last night and was paying for it today. Instead of going to bed early, I totally did it again tonight. Oh well, I can sleep tomorrow right?

(1/27) I had the day off today. Sarah and I walked and the kiddos had school in the morning, and then we all had a pretty quiet afternoon. Dad had to work tonight, and once again I stayed up too late watching my shows.

(1/28) Work and school for me and the kids today. Dad was off, which meant I actually got to see him this evening. We've been watching Silicon Valley after the kiddos go to bed. It's funny!

(1/29) TGIF! I feel like I say this every Friday, but man what a week! I've been totally slammed at work--which is great because the days fly by--but whew, I'm cooked.

(1/30) Yay, Saturday!  I had crazy dreams all night and got up before the boys today. I came down to enjoy my coffee in peace before the chaos brigade arrived and started in on breakfast. I took a Zumba class this morning and then spent some quality time on the treadmill while watching The Stand. I'm enjoying it so far.

(1/31) Lazy Sunday for the boys and me today. I read and got caught up on my monthly photos and did my monthly reads wrap-up. I love reading everyone's comments on my book post and usually find a few new titles to add to my list.

(2/1) Happy February! The boys had the day off school today so teachers could write report cards, and Dad and I had work like normal. Toffee had puppy class tonight, and was so tired afterwards, every time I looked over at her, she was either half-lidded or completely out. Lil Miss Bunny-butt is three months old today.

(2/2) Groundhog's Day! The groundhog says six more weeks of winter, but my crocuses and daffodils are coming up and are about to bloom. The tulips and irises are started too. We'll see. Being Tuesday, my day was pretty much one big meeting. I'm still sloggin' through last year's sales and trying to get caught up. I'm super curious about how the numbers will stack up!

(2/3) I had the day off today and kicked it off with a walk with Sarah. After the boys got settled into remote schooling, I started reading my book and promptly fell asleep. It was beautiful out today, so while the boys were attending their specials Zoom this afternoon, I built the scooter Nanan gave to the boys. J and I scooted/hiked down to the park and enjoyed some swing time.

(2/4) Work and school for the boys and me today, and Dad had the day off. Dad brought us donuts and we were all buzzing through our morning. We didn't do anything much. It was rainy this afternoon, and J only got to play for about 20 mins before he had to come back in. I'm so glad it was sunny yesterday when I got to enjoy it!

(2/5) It was yucky on our walk this morning, and Sarah and I called it quits before we got very far. I ended up going back home and nabbing another hour of sleep. Today was another busy day at work, so the extra winks helped me through. The boys had school and Dad had the day off today. It was still light out after dinner tonight so we ran down to the park to play. It wasn't a long trip, but was just what we needed!

(2/7) The kids and I had a pretty relaxing Saturday. I took a Zumba class this morning. J really wanted to go to the park at lunch, but it was drizzling so we didn't stay very long. He has been so excited about it being light out after dinner that we went again to the park. The boys jumped in/rode through the puddles on the court. After we got back, I let them YouTube so they'd leave me alone and I could finish my book.

(2/8) Happy Sunday to us! Dad left us some cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Yum! I see blue sky, so I think a park trip will be in order.
