March 25th-31st

(3/25) Yay!  Everyone is healthy and it's back to work / school / Kathy's.  C has conference week and is off early each day.  I'm hopeful for some nice weather, so we can spend some time outside!

(3/26) Due to C's abbreviated school day, I didn't volunteer in his class today.  Nanan came early and stayed with the littles while I went to grab C from school, get lunch and drop him off at home so I could leave again and go to his conference.  His teacher had wonderful things to say and really *gets* first grade boys.  I'm so glad!  We had a chill rest of the day and I think I'm ready to take on the rest of the week.

(3/27) Boys were home with Dad today and I had to work. I came home and got to have dinner with the fam.  I came to the table with my coat on, and D told me right away that I needed to go take it off. He is the fun police - always making sure we're doing what we're supposed to!

(3/28) Poor little boys were both running temps today, so Dad kept them home and I worked like normal.  Our china hutch suffered a critical blow and lost the glass on one side, and then when I tried to turn it to face the wall, the leg broke.  It's been through so many kids. It'd be a shame if it is too costly to fix.  I'm super bummed, but it was just an accident.  (C's chair tipped into it)   At least the littles were feeling better this evening.  I hope that's the end of that!

(3/29) Much needed lazy day! We got up late, went nowhere, and loved it!  C was a quite the builder and constructed things out of Kinex and Legos all day.  The littles took a super long nap, but then had disgusting diapers all afternoon.  I ended up changing 5 diapers in the span of 30 minutes, if that gives you any idea.  They both woke up screaming during the night - D likes to sleep with the blanket on his head, but not over the rest of his body and gets cold (surprise), and J, I think, just had a nightmare.

(3/30) We had our annual pictures taken today at Legion Park.  I can't wait to see how they turned out!  We missed the rain, but it sure was gray out.  The littles took another long nap and then we went out for Mexican foodage this evening.  The twins didn't eat a whole lot, but they seem to be feeling much better.

(3/31) Work day for me, spring break for C, and Dad has the herd.  Hope they have a fun day!

March 18th-24th

(3/18) Work day for Dad and me, but unfortunately Kathy & her son are really sick, so Nanan came to watch littles and I knocked off work early in time to get C from school. Before heading off to work, Dad took the littles to the dealership to get another key cut for the van and the dealership had some cute activity kits for the kids - smart!

(3/19) Busy day for me. I had the day off and volunteered in the morning in C's class, then rushed home for one of our last home study interviews.  We're done with our part now; yay!  The twins took all of the DVDs down while I was talking... but at least it kept them entertained?  They only got a super short nap because my interview concluded at 1p and I had to wake them at 2:15p.  Talk about uber grumpy kids!  D has figured out how to unlock the fridge and make it rain in the kitchen, and J kept wanting to get allll the videos out again and they were just into everything tonight.  I actually ended up trying timeout with them, which resulted in the one not in timeout walking by and announcing "TWO MINUTES!"   Not so effective.

(3/20) Work day for me and Dad had the kids.  Dad took the boys in for haircuts today and both D & J screamed through the entire thing. But they all look so cute!  Love coming home to my handsome dudes.

(3/21) I took today off since C didn't have school and we're trying to avoid the sickness at Kathy's house.  I packed lunch for the boys and we met up with Sarah & her boys at the park.  Of course the boy that wasn't wearing boots was first in the puddle, which then meant all 3 were in the puddle.   C was rollerblading and managed to fall butt-first into it too.  Sigh.  I brought the twins' cars to play with, but toward the end of our playtime another set of twins showed up and they had even cooler cars.  In the time it took me to walk across the playground and get D's car, he had managed to finagle a spot in one of the better cars and was being pushed around the court.  He was soaking wet from having played in the puddle, it was all of 46° and windy as all get out, and it was nap time, which all meant a MELTDOWN when it was time to go.  C went home with Jor, and I guess they went back to Sarah's and fought for most of the time about what they were going to do.  Sarah dropped him off in time for dinner and then Nanan came to watch everybody so I could go to a movie with the girls.  Mom said the twins both escaped their beds and got into *everything* tonight, kind of like they do every night.  Weee.

(3/22) C had his team awards ceremony today and equipment return.  J so sweetly clapped for all the players whenever the audience clapped.  C earned an academic all-star award and a participation trophy.  He scored some ice cream at 11am, which was fine by me since there were berries to top it and the littles munched on those.   The littles napped the day away and finally woke up around 5pm when Sarah & Jamie came over for dinner.  We couldn't decide on what we wanted, and finally settled on Bento. Sarah went and grabbed it, and by the time we had all finished and played a bit, it was bedtime for little boys again.

(3/23) What a beautiful day!  We kicked off the morning with twinsies actually *in* their beds (yahoo!).  After breakfast we packed the fam up and went to the park.  It felt so much warmer today, thought according to the car it was only 1° warmer than Fri at 47°.  Must've been the lack of wind.  We picked up lunch and came home to eat and put the boys down for a nap.  After they woke up, it was time for play followed by dinner, bath and bed. Here's hoping tonight has fewer get-ups than last night. For those playing the home game, I went up 13 times to put J back in bed, 2 times to stop J from removing his diaper and once to fetch D's toy.

(3/24) Monday again.  It's conference week which means early release for C all week. Dad has the kiddos today and I am at work.

March 11th-17th

(3/11) Work day for Dad & me and Kathy had the kids.  C threw an epic fit today because everything was boring, and it was too hot out and everything was horrible and it was all the sun's fault!  ~ All because Kathy said he needed to go play instead of having screen time right after school.  Oh the horrors!  LOL!  It's actually more convenient for me when he does his screen time after work because it keeps him busy and the twins are fascinated with his computer game, so it keeps them out of the fridge and away from the stove while I'm trying to get dinner together.

(3/12) Went in to get our fingerprints done today.  Because of that appointment, I had let C's teacher know that I might be late and she said she already had a couple parents already and that if I needed to skip, that would be fine.  Freedom for the day!  It was beautiful out, so I texted Sarah and we decided on a walk to Starbucks.  We went there and back and then let all the kids play at her house between picking up kids from school and lunch.  The boys and I went home for a quickie nap and then I got them up to go get C from school.  After school we hit the park with everyone else in the city and played until we had to go home for dinner.

(3/13) Work day for me and Dad had the kids.  Oh darn, forgot to pull anything for dinner so we were forced to have pizza.  Twist.  Got my daily quota of happy kid cuddles and put everyone to bed.  Then got to spend some QT with the hubby watching trash TV.  Our favorite!

(3/14) TGIF!  This has been a long, very tiring week for me.  Today was a work day for Dad and me and Kathy had the kiddos.  I made a tasty dinner that none of the kids liked... that's kind of how my week went.  I think I feel asleep minutes after the kids went to bed tonight.  I'm will be soooo glad to sleep in tomorrow!

(3/15) It sure was weird not having hockey this morning!  We had Jor over to play early and then Colton went home with him to keep him occupied and out of his mom's hair ;)  Twinsies and I hit the library and then the park.  It started to "spill" (rain) at the park, so we came home for lunch and a nap.  I had to wake the littles at 3:45p so we could go to Jamie's 3rd birthday party.  Time is seriously flying... he's 7 months older than the littles, which means 3 is just around the corner for them too. We only got to spend a few hours at Jamie's and then had to run home so Dad, Colton and I could go to the last Silvertips game.  Tips won with a 1.5 minutes to go - awesome game!  C was exhausted from all that playing, so he half slept and mostly ignored a very intense game.  Granddad and Grandma came to watch the littles for us and they had a great time!  D, of course, did his "LIE DOWN!!!!" routine and J had a hard time going to sleep.  A combo of not liking disruptions to his routine and teething.  Those darn molars.

(3/16) Dad very nicely offered to take care of some errands for me so I could have a lazy day, but sadly they took much longer than I imagined and we ended up with an irritated Dad and a very sorry Mom.  The littles and I enjoyed our morning though and we had the perfect rainy day lunch...grilled cheese and soup.  The twins took a long nap, and I watched movies while C and Dad were out shopping for new hockey gear.  He got some brand new gear to replace the beat-up old rental gear he's used for the last 3 seasons.  He is SO excited and kept trying on his gear all night.  He even watched TV with it on!  The twins went from zero to starving when I was cooking, so dinner came off piecemeal..  And J wanted nothing to do with it, so launched his salad on the floor. Yum, floor salad!  After D coated himself in ketchup, it was bath time.  Dad picked up some strawberry shortcake for dessert, and J repeatedly asked for more (whip cream!) and D called it a "cupcake."  Pretty close, D!

(3/17) Happy St. Paddy's Day!  I am working today and Dad has the kids.  We have our second home visit tonight for licensing.  We don't have much left.  Feels like it has gone fast.

Words:

D (putting the carrot in his kitchen): All gone carrot.
Me: All done?  Oh dear.
D: Go get it!

J: D-d?
D: What?

D: No pees on the floor!
Me: Yep, no peeing on the floor.
Yay, potty training!

D: Jammies on!  Diaper on!
Me: Yep, jammies stay on and your diaper stays on.
Yay... potty training in our future.

And I'm sure glad we got the lockout function on the fridge.  D can now unlock it and turn on the water.  D also learned to climb up the play structure this week, and climbs the gate at home to turn the lights on and off.  They get into EVERYTHING now!  And getting undressed is big fun.  It's always a gamble what clothes, if any, they will have on when we go in.

March 4th-10th

(3/4) Work day for Dad & me, and Kathy had the kids. Rushed home, made dinner and it was bedtime the next time I blinked.

(3/5) I worked in C's classroom doing an investigation of sedimentary rocks with the kids. They got to see/feel/smell the rock and describe it. The smell descriptions were a riot - it was described as dirt, bird poop (C's), a garden, a wall, burned popcorn, and several other things. Nanan came to watch the littles while I was there. I hurried back so I could run J into the doctor. He still is fussing with this ear. Turns out he had a minor infection and should be good as new in a few days. Poor bubba. Nanan stayed until I got home with C this afternoon. We did exciting things like home work and screen time this evening, and then we cuddled up and all watched some TV. It was a lovely day.

Best game ever!
Climb, lift, repeat
(3/6) Work day for me, and Dad had the kiddos. We ended up going out for dinner tonight since we had a coupon. Oh darn!  C was a sushi-vacuum tonight and inhaled everything that came to the table.  The littles went to bed pretty much right after we got home, and I think they finally went to sleep an hour, maybe hour and a half after I put them there. Sigh.

My rockstar :)
(3/7) Work day for the parents, and Kathy had the kiddos. D found a pacifier at Kathy's house, and she sent me a picture. I guess J wanted nothing to do with it. Pretty funny since he was the pacifier guy! I had book club this evening and Granddad & Grandma came to watch the kids. Grandma said J started to sob after I left, but was also stuffing his face with strawberries. He couldn't seem to stop either one. And D kept going long into the night. I told them that was pretty normal. I have to go up at least two times to tell him to lie down and go to sleep.

(3/8) Hockey practice for C this morning. My fitbit said I logged almost 3 miles chasing littles. Who needs a gym?! I did some rearranging and cleared out our entry way today. Moved the hope chest down to our bedroom and Dad will install a new coat hanger for little boy coats at little boy height where it used to be. The boys took an epic nap and I had dinner mostly cooked by the time they finally got up. I had a hankering for grilled chicken, but alas our barbecue is still out in the shed. George Forman it was. I did up some "zoo-kiwi" (zucchini) and couscous and we had ourselves a summerish dinner. C'mon spring!

(3/9) What a fun day! We had C's last hockey game and thank goodness an army of grandparents helped watch the kiddos so I could occasionally watch my big boy. He said he scored 8 goals today - though one of them that I captured happened after the buzzer went. So maybe 7. It was a great cap to a fun season ~ so glad he is loving it! We went to lunch with Nanan at Red Robin. Suupppper slow service today, but all the kids did well waiting and waiting. Got home for nap after 1:30p, and I had to wake D at 4:45p. Granted, that's the new 4:45, but still, sleepy boy. He got upset when I wouldn't let him go back upstairs to bed after dinner. But of course he was wide awake when I put him to bed at 7:30p tonight. Dad and C went bowling this afternoon, leaving the littles and me to do our weekend chores and watch some McQueen and Bob the Builder. I got some time to chill and read too. Never did make it to the gym. I'm sticking with the excuse that the one hour we lost is the one I would've been at the gym.

(3/10) Mondaze again. And now the time change hits. Oof. I am at work today and Dad has the kids. I may have to nap in the middle.
