Eggstravaganza!

D: Poop lakes have poops in them, and poops are disgusting.

Me: J, stop, please. You're giving Mama a headache.
D: Mom? You can have a headache in your hair.

D: Mom? Mom? Mom?
Me: Nope, no more. Mom's all done.
D: Stop saying that word! It's not an option!

D: Oh no! Our tree-house is shiny on the outside! (frost)

J: Mom, I just need to be Batman. I just need to be. Please? Please?

D: What the upside-down city?!

(3/11) Work day for me, and Dad had the kiddos.  C got to go to a play with Nanan tonight at the Children's Theatre.  Lucky boy!

(3/12) Last hockey practice for the twins today.  They both got up on their skates reasonably easily, and when I went to put D on the ice, he no longer sinks into a puddle and will actually stand up!  Yahoo, boys!  They got medals for completing the season, and we'll be shadowboxing their first jerseys. C had his last game and team celebration today too.  C was called the team's "stout defender" and earned an Academic All-Star Award.

(3/13) We went to a very aptly named "puddle party" to celebrate a couple of kids' birthdays today.  We managed to score about 10 minutes of sunshine before the rain and wind machine turned on so high that we had to make a run for it.  C and I had a rough morning, and he kept taking off at the party.  Apparently it's too much to ask for him to a) do his chores, and b) do them right.  Such a mean mom I am.

(3/14) My very sweet hubby had to work OT tonight, and arranged for pie to appear for Pi Day.

Me: Everybody say "Yay Dad!"
Everybody: Yay Dad!
D: That was the new dad.

Apparently D picks new parents by who brings him dessert.

(3/15) Work day from home for me.  Our internet was all screwy at home, so I was forced to work from Starbucks for the morning. Total twist my arm moment.  Thankfully, it was back on by the time I brought the boys home from preschool.

(3/16) The twinsies had a field trip at the Kangaroo Farm with their school.  It was so cool to get up close to pet and feed the animals! D was absolutely enamored with the chickens.  He tried to chase a peacock too, which promptly told him off.

(3/17) Work day for me, and Dad had the boys.  The littles had a dental appointment today and did great.  The power went off in my building, so I headed home and worked from there.  It came back on a few hours later, but I'm glad I went home instead of waiting around for it to come back on.

(3/18) Work day for me, and Dad had the kiddos.  I forgot my lunch at home today so got a visit from my boys in the office.  They were out getting the oil changed and were sort of in the area.  From there, they headed out to scout out a bunch of neighborhoods, to which we're considering moving.

(3/19) House hunting for us today.  We checked out a few places, and stopped for lunch at a fish 'n chips & burger joint.  J was so excited when he heard the word "chips," and was supremely disappointed when his chips turned out to be fries instead. The twins hardly ate... Sometimes they do, and don't stop eating, and others we wonder why we bother.

(3/20) Fun day today!  I took the kiddos to the gym and then picked up the teenager so we could go color eggs at Grandma & Granddad's!  With six kids, it was chaos, but the kiddos had a blast!  Fun to see my brother & SIL too!

(3/21) Work day for Dad and me, and the kiddos have school.  I'm working remote again this week, which makes things interesting.  Luckily the rugrats are away at school for a little bit.

Let's Play Tournament HOCKEY!

D: What is this drink?
Me: Coke.
D: I tasted it, and it's too spicy.

J: This orange Gatorade is too perfect!

D: I love fundee-storms! (thunder)

D: And here's a whole lot of salad.
Me: I'd like white dressing on mine, please.
D: We don't have any. We just have ketchup and honey.

D: That says AFV, not WWD.
J: And AFV spells not funny.

Dad: Sit down, JJ-Zombie.
J: I not a zombie!
Dad: Well you look like one right now.
D: Thanks, Captain Obvious!

Waitress: Ready for dessert?
Dad/Me: No, thank you.
J (raising hand): I am ready!

(3/4) Work day from home for me, and Dad had the kiddos.  The littles got adorable hair cuts and Dad had to run C's skates in again to be sharpened for this weekend.

(3/5) Hockey craziness today!  C had a tournament down in Renton.  3 games spread out throughout the day. They lost 2 and won 1.  C played great and we're super proud of him! Both the twins got up on their skates today, and JJ even figured out shuffling a little bit.  Yay, boys!!

(3/6) Second day of the tournament for C.  The boys and I headed down to Renton.  I was armed with snacks and electronics so I'd actually be able to watch C play.  Nanan made it down shortly after C got out on the ice and got to see him play too.  They faced a tough team & lost, but played hard.  I let them play in the "snow" (ice scraped by the zamboni) before we headed out for breakfast.  We ended up at IHOP where I should have just ordered a plate of whip cream for the littles, since that's all they ate off their funny faces.  LOL!  Then home for movies and cuddles, on a rainy, yucky day.

(3/7) Work day for Dad & me, and the boys had school. The littles had to take in 3 things today for sharing.  Which means 6 things to haul in for us.  D brought in the megaphone.  He said it had to go in his cubby because it was too loud.  Gee, imagine that.

(3/8) Work day for Dad and me.  No school for the twinsies today.  It was field trip day, but I didn't have a way to get the the littles there.  Mr. No (D) was full of it, and told Amanda that he could tell her no because he wasn't at preschool, and I apparently told him he could.  Such a sassy pants! C got to go on a field trip to the Pacific Science Center with his class.  Sounds like he had a mostly good time.  We ended the night poorly with him raging that we don't ever let him do what he wants.  Because meanest parents ever.  Dear child, you don't even know.

(3/9) Work day for Dad, and my work day in the twins' class.  The boys had to bring in things that jingled for sharing today.  J chose the cow bell.  And before preschool, they had to run around with it, and D had the megaphone. My ears were ringing even before we even got to preschool.

(3/10) Work day for me, and Dad has the kiddos.  C has hockey after school today. Closing in on the end of the season.  Dad stopped by with the twins today and took me to lunch.  The twins packed away their weight in chips and beans. Fun to see them ♥

Core Memories

Waiting for Netflix to load ~ a sign we may have watched Inside Out too much...
J: D, it has no core memories!

D: Mom, what color is peanut butter?
Me: It's peanut butter-colored.
D: Mom, peanut butter is the color of peanut butter, and that color is called brown.

Me: D, what do you want for breakfast?
D: Uhm, a sammich of eggs.
Me: J, what are you going to have?
J: Uhm, ice cream.

Me: Good morning!
D: Mom, I just need to go to sleep.

Sweetest hubby ever!
J brought his stuffed kitty to share at preschool ~
J: I put my kitty in my pocket! Well, just his head.

D holds up C's skull and cross bone pic ~
I think this is for pirate day too!

Me: Why are you crying?
D: Because I miss my dad.
J: You didn't miss Mom. D, your mom is here.

D: Mom, I wanna go camping.
Me: Me too!

D: We have a new piece of honey! It came from the garden.

D: We have BLUE Gatorade, Mom!
Me: Yeah? What does blue taste like?
J: Ice cream, and chocolate, and the DS.
D: And we LOVE Chuckie Cheese, Mom!
J: And there's cheese in the Gatorade.
Me: Ew.
J: It's not stinky cheese, Mom.
Me: Cheese in the Gatorade sounds ew-ie.

(2/25) Work day for me, and Dad had the kiddos.  C was supposed to have hockey this evening, but his stomach was bugging him, so they stayed home.  I got home late and got to give out kisses, and that was about all I saw of the boys today.

(2/26) Work day from home for me, and Dad had the boys.  We went out for dinner when I got done, and midway through the meal, we looked over and C had turned green.  Uh-oh.  Poor guy revisited dinner alllll over the restaurant.  I made a comment about us not being welcomed back, and C was mortified.  Sorry, bud, I so did not mean it that way!  JJ would not go to bed this evening until I had taped up his "body" (outline of himself created at preschool), and had a complete meltdown when one corner came un-taped in the night.

(2/27) J excitedly demanded that I come upstairs first thing today, so that I could admire his body on the wall.  C and Dad stayed home, since C was still not feeling 100%, while the littles and I hit the gym, and then went to hockey. I got to go see Constellations with my mom at the Seattle Rep this evening.  What an awesome play!  It's all about the choices you have ever and never made, and how just one word or reaction changes the whole outcome.  Very powerful! Mom and I got to ding around Seattle for the afternoon too.  Fun to spend time with her!

(2/28) Lazy bum day for the boys and me.  J spiked a fever today and the rest of us have been feeling on & off not so great, so we stayed in. C was really ticked at me today because I had the nerve to ask him to do his chores, and to keep doing them until they were done correctly.  He made lots of signs to express his anger, and stomped around all full of huff. Although irritating, I couldn't help but laugh at the drama. Even asking him to get dressed was cause for lots of fluster.  I got to send him off to a hockey game with his dad and a friend this afternoon.  He came home in a much better mood and finished the chores with Dad in about a quarter of the time he spent stomping around for me.  Seriously, child.  Do you not know from who you got your stubborn streak?

(2/29) Work day for Dad & me, and school for the boys. D was full of NOs today.  He had something to say to his teacher and to all the parent helpers.  He even told me to go away so he could go back to sleep this morning.  Someone definitely woke up on the wrong side of the bed today.

(3/1) D got sick in the night last night, so we stayed home today.  Sure wish this bug would vacate the premises entirely.  C started a Lego engineering class after school.  He is going to love it!

(3/2) Tough commute for Dad today.  He worked remote from home.  I worked in the twins' classroom at preschool and discovered today that JJ is pretty good at the Memory game.  We retrieved D's "body" from school and put it up.  The boys are so proud of their "bodies," it's really adorable.

(3/3) Work day for me, Dad has the boys, and C has hockey after school. Ready, GO!
