Pupdate

(5/3) Today was fun ~ work threw a baby shower for a coworker at our staff meeting and I had a busy day of meetings which made the day whiz by.

(5/4) I had the day off today and used it to run a bunch of errands. I found teacher appreciation gifts, did the things I had been avoiding, and then came home where I discovered I had no lasagna noodles for the dish I was supposed to have started hours before. Whoopsie! It was the boys' treat day, and coincidentally they weren't too hungry at dinnertime so we're a-okay that dinner was late.

(5/5) Cinco de Mayo! I worked in the building for the first time in forever and had fun setting up my cube. I bought a shot glass collector box for all my Starbucks ornaments and brought the first of a whole lotta plants back. Although I've since found space in the house for them so will have to decide how much I'm willing to bring back. Dad wrangled the kiddos today and I came home to flautas and margaritas. A girl could get used to this!

(5/6) TGIF! Work and school for the boys and me today and Dad had the day off. I'm glad I had a brainless project today that I could just plug away at since my head definitely wasn't in the game.

(5/7) Ahhh, Saturday. We all did the things today. Nanan came over and we went to a winery for their spring release/Mother's Day party and enjoyed some vino and snacks before leaving to find coffee. When we got home we watched the Kentucky Derby. Rich Strike won with 80:1 odds ~ incredible race! Dad and I attempted to watch the livestream special of one of our favorite comics tonight but their stream was having difficulty so we'll have to watch tomorrow. We caught up on our other shows and now are just waiting for new episodes to drop.

(5/8) Happy Mother's Day! Dad went and picked up donuts for breakfast. The boys made me darling gifts at school and I teared up reading J's. He's such a sweetheart. Dad had to work this afternoon and I had a much-needed day of sloth.

(5/9) Back to it for all of us today. The kiddos had rough days and were punchy as all get out. We all went to our separate corners and finished out the day.

(5/10) 5:30 am came waayyy too early today and we were wishing our morning walk would be called off. Womp, womp. We all had work and school today. My day was full of meetings but they kept me busy and out of trouble.

(5/11) What a beautiful morning! I had the day off today and after everyone went to work/school, I did as much yard work as I could before the rain returned. The twins are testing right now in school and were extra happy to go for our treat day at the store.

(5/12) I'm so glad I got the lawn mowed yesterday because we're back to monsoon season again today. I worked in the office today and it was so nice to have my buddy just over my cube wall to chat with! The sun broke through this afternoon and made my commute home pleasant too.

(5/13) Finally Friday! I wasn't sure we'd make it. I told our boss that the troops needed a FriYAY and got to take some time this afternoon to chat with everyone.

(5/14) We had a pretty chill day. We hung out and did our own things for most of the day. Dad made us an early dinner and then we took Toffee to Pints and Pups for a corgi meetup. P&P is an indoor dog park / bar that recently opened near us. Super cute space! We headed on home after hanging for a bit and got caught up on our shows.

(5/15) I got up early and took care of Sarah's pupper and then came home to read my book. Around mid morning, I drove up to meet with Nanan to work on her computer. Thankfully the computer issues were dealt with quickly and we got some other matters squared away. I realized it was getting late and jetted out of there so I could make book club back at home. We had a real dud for a book this time (my fault; my pick!), but I always enjoy talking books that we're reading even more than the one we all read.

(5/16) Merrr. Monday again. J had a terrible day and decided to give himself a haircut during school. He says he no longer needs a haircut now, having removed a good chunk in front. Oy. We had another talk about him not cutting his own hair. He got all dressed up in his nerf gear this afternoon and you couldn't really see the chop job when he had his glasses on top of his head, lol. He lost another tooth tonight, which he was excited about, so we ended the night on a good note.

(5/17) Work and school for all of us today. I had a bunch of meetings and kept busy all day. The twins had better days today (thank goodness) and there was no more hair cutting. The bar is low this time of year.

(5/18) I had the day off today. It was gross out so we skipped our morning walk. After the twins were off to school, I enjoyed a day of sloth and didn't do a whole lot other than read my book. The twins normally get to go to the store to pick up a treat for good behavior during the week but today were both such disasters we came on home. They were really angry and let me know the entire rest of the day. I hope their days improve tomorrow because holy moly, I cannot do another day of that attitude.

(5/19) I worked in the building today and Dad managed the twinadoes. He said they had pretty good days. I got home late tonight since I was driving a coworker home and traffic was extra, plus I had to make a stop out of the way for pupper food.

(5/20) I'm so very glad it's Friday today! We crawled to the end of this week. Dad took the boys for haircuts after school and they managed to salvage J's do. It was nice this evening so we had a glass of vino out by the fire.

(5/21) Dad and C went up to work on cars today at Rob's and the boys and I hung out at home. We grilled and ate outside tonight at the picnic table. I picked up s'mores stuff too. I found these stuffed marshmallows with cookies and creme inside ~ they melted unevenly but the kids had fun trying to toast up their sugary concoctions.

(5/22) Nanan asked if we could come up and help her today. The twins wanted to come along if lunch was involved, so I grabbed sandwiches for all of us and we headed up. Our plan was to the hit the park afterward. It's been such a cold and rainy May so the twins dressed accordingly. Only, today was a surprise 70° day. They were not prepared for how hot they'd get after running around for a bit. So the park was a quick trip and we all came home grumpy. So much for a fun day.

(5/23) Today was the Mondayest Monday that ever Mondayed. I got a call from J and J's teacher. He is so very done with school and just doesn't care anymore. I tried to talk him into having a better afternoon and turning around his day but wasn't successful. He came home moaning/groaning/mooing? I don't even know. We are counting down the days til summer.

(5/24) C had a three hour late start today due to SBA testing, so didn't even appear until after the twins went off to school. D discovered Dad's thrifts from yesterday and set about doing the dishes just so he could have the orange cup. I hand washed it for him since he was too excited to wait. J had another miserable day at school and we're just barely hanging on lately. And then the news about Uvalde. I just can't. 💔

(5/25) I "slept in" (6:30a) this morning until it was time to get C up for school. My walking partner was feeling better this afternoon so we went for a stroll. I was complaining about my irises not blooming and came home to a bunch of purple tips. Yay! The twins managed to salvage their days today so we hit the store for their treats.

(5/26) My dear, darling children... oy vey. Today was rough. I took a phone call and exchanged half a dozen emails trying to get everything sorted. While I was at work in my office instead of just around the corner. Summer can't come soon enough.

(5/27) Man, I am so glad it's Friday! Today was a shorter day for me since we're headed into a holiday weekend. The twins got off early from school too, but for a less fun reason. They got their covid boosters. Our EveryPlate order was running late so Dad decided to grill instead. We even a had brief respite from the rain in which to do it!

(5/28) We had a fun day today. I spent the morning cleaning the twins' rooms and then we had my brother and his family over for dinner. It's been way too long, and we had a lovely time catching up. The twins planned out breakfast, lunch, and dinner and they were ready for a full day of cousiny fun. Alas, we just had time for dinner together. We're looking forward to more summer get togethers though!

Fort city!

(5/29) The kiddos were super bummed that their cousins couldn't come back this morning. They were also extra punchy and spent the day yelling at each other over whose turn it was on the computer and who loves the corgi more. Dad let Toffee sleep in J's room last night, which caused major drama at bedtime because D wanted her tonight but J was stuck on that not being fair. So D ended up with both Cass & Toffee on his bed with him and J went to bed grumpy.

(5/30) Memorial Day ~ the boys and I were off today. The boys spent the morning yelling at each other, so when D proposed we go to the park, I said "YES!" The boys played for an hour or so and J spun himself sick on the spinner. He was really green around the gills when we left. We stopped at the store to grab some drinks and headed for home. He took one sip and up it all came. Uggghh.

(5/31) Oof. J had a day of nope. He didn't want to do anything at school and only wanted to be home playing video games. Uhm, me too. We had lots of communication with the school today and after school was a hot mess since I put screens away and said "GO OUTSIDE!" There was much stomping and yelling. And then I didn't fix what they wanted for dinner so there was even more stomping and yelling. And even more when I had them to go to bed early because ohmygod.

(6/1) Dad took the day off so we had a date day while the kiddos were at school. We started with a meeting at the school for J. We left with a plan and are feeling hopeful. Then we did old married people things and went to both WinCo AND Costco, lol. We had lunch at Spuds in Kirkland and had a lovely afternoon. J made his day, but D had a rough one. I took them to the store anyway and let J pick his treat and D picked a treat out for tomorrow. We had sushi this evening and D plated his on a sushi dish set Dad found while thrifting the other day. It was adorable.

(6/2) I worked in the office today. J was already awake when I came downstairs. I left a note like I usually do and came home to this funny diagram of J's lost teeth beneath mine. He had another great day at school today. I'm so glad for him! D had rough parts to his day, but it sounds like the school's admin is on it and can hopefully help resolve some on-going difficulties he's been having.

(6/3) Today is a work and school day for the boys and me. D had an amazing day and was super proud of himself. I love that! We're all glad it's the weekend. I don't think we have anything planned, but hopefully it will be a restful one.
