Sing, Sing a Song

Me: We are going to check out your new school tonight.
J: *gasp* Is it September next day?!

J: I'm gonna sing you a song!  But I can't remember the words.

Me: You can play screen time at the gym.
J: Unless it's off. Then I have to play.

D: How 'bout tortillini tonight?
Dad: No, we're having spaghetti.
D: Do we have kneeballs (meatballs)?
Dad: No, I think we're out.
D: How 'bout kneeballs?
Dad: How 'bout Denton brains?
D: No, I do not like that.

D (talking to J): I give you experience because I die.
Uhhh....

(4/19) Day off for me today, and work day for Dad.  The twins and I hit the gym this morning, and then came home to meet the moving truck.  Granddad and Grandma dropped some items with us, and Jimmy claimed his fave right away.  Granddad even brought me my bank from from when I was a baby, filled with coins from my birth year.  Can't believe they still had it!

(4/20) Work day for me, and Dad had the boys today.  Dad made homemade ramen tonight, and it was a treat to come home to.  C had lacrosse practice this evening.

(4/21) Work day for me, and Dad had the boys.  He got a wild hair, and totally revamped the kitchen while I was gone today.  It looks great!  It was finally warm enough out to wear shorts here in the PNW, and D made a water slide.

(4/22)  Sarah and I went for a walk this morning, and Dad & I got in some yard work before he & C left for lacrosse pictures.  Dad put in edging for our front flower bed, and I mowed and edged the yard. Whilst off at pictures, I tackled some remaining items in the kitchen that needed to be decluttered, and rearranged some of our plants, fancying up the joint a bit.  C's game was a little later this afternoon, so Dad came back, and we switched boys.  He took the twins out shopping, and I went to C's game.  C played goalie for the first half, and defense in the second.  His team ultimately lost, but it was fun to watch.

(4/23) Happy Sunday! I'm really on a cleaning kick lately. Today, I tackled the bonus room, the twins' room (which was overdue for a good clean-out), the linen closet, did some furniture rearrangement, including a desk switch-out. I got a good portion of that all done while the boys were playing video games, and finished the rest when it started pouring the and boys started watching videos about how to play video games.

(4/24) Work day for Dad & me, school for C, and the twins were with Amanda.  The twins had kindergarten orientation tonight.  Class of 2030.  Hold me.   D chose not to participate in the Pete the Cat activity, but was excited to help me pick out a couple Pete the Cat books from the digital library to read at bed time.

(4/25) Work day for Dad & me, school for C, and the twins were with Amanda.  They had a busy, busy day, and went to Gymagine, Forest Park, & Howarth Park/Beach.  After all that, they went to lacrosse practice with C, and played more there too.

(4/26) Day off for me, and work day for Dad. The twinadoes and I went over to Granddad & Grandma's to help with getting their place ready to sell.  Once we were all done, I took the twins to the museum to play.  They were so patient!

(4/27) Work day for me, and Dad had the kiddos today.  C had lacrosse practice after school, and it was sunny enough for the little guys to be out on the playground.

(4/28) Work day for me, and Dad has the boys.  He got the Gambler car all sanded for a painting party tomorrow.  Can't wait to see how it turns out!

Like a Wrecking Ball!

How he's now entering the building ~
J: I CAME IN LIKE A WRECKING BALL!
[Apparently the twins were singing Bad Romance the other day too. Hee!]

J: If you just keep going and going and going at a red light, there would be a problem.

D: And if you ride in the trunk, you would go to jail!  Forever and ever!
Me: Yeah, it's not safe to ride in the trunk.

Me: What do you want for breakfast?
C: Candy!
Me: Naturally.

C: Some advice for ya, that I learned in my video game tutorials, is that a child will do anything for you at bedtime.

(4/11) Work day for Dad & me.  C had lacrosse practice after work, so I met everyone at home. Tuesdays are always such a blur!

(4/12) Work day for Dad & day off for me.  The twins had an outdoor field trip this morning, but it was pouring down rain this morning, so I opted to take them to the gym instead. We ran a bunch of errands afterward, and came home and had lunch.  This evening we went to a fishing clinic.  They told us when to hit up the local lakes, how to fish 'em, and then gave the kids instructions on how to cast.  The kids all went home with new poles and are excited to test them out!

(4/13) Work day for me, day off for Dad, and school for the boys.  Nanan stayed after preschool and watched the twinadoes for me until I got home.  C had lacrosse practice this evening, and Dad took him for a hair cut after.  He came home with some colored gels and is very excited to try them out!

D: This is my last name & my new name.
Experimenting with color
(4/14) Work day for me, and Dad had the boys.  He took the twinsies in for trims, and they look adorbs!  Dad declared a dinner emergency this evening, and instructed me to go directly from work to our fave sushi restaurant. Yum!

(4/15) C had a lacrosse game early this morning way up north.  Dad took him to that, and he was the game's MVP today! Since they were up north, they caught up with the teenager and went for lunch.  I stayed home with the twins today, which was a good thing since our late-night partyers were exhausted. Go figure. I took them to the new library for story time this afternoon, and then for out for lunch at Burger King, mainly because it had a play center.  Once we got home, they video-gamed with C while I went out and planted all the pretties Dad brought home.  Our yard is looking great!  Dad and C went to a cruise-in, and came home with some air pressure rockets to test out down at the playground.  They were quite the hit!

(4/16) Happy Easter! The bunny hid some stuffed eggs in the house, and left some goodies for the boys, including those sponge capsules that grow to become animals in water.  D had the best time with them, and dissolved almost all of the three packages that the bunny left.  Nanan joined us for dinner this evening.  The boys were bananas with all the sugar they had during the day, so we took them to the park to help burn some of it off.

(4/17) Work from home day for me. Amanda's little was sick today, so the twins stayed home with me.  They made caterpillars and stars while I worked.

(4/18) Work day for Dad & me, school for C, and the twins are with Amanda.  Looks like they got to go to the trampoline park.  Fun!

Water Babies

D: I'm gonna be hungry when it's time for dessert.
Dad: You already had dessert.  The pie was your dessert.
J&D: NO!  It was our SNACK!

D: I want you to go to the store.
Me: Go to the store? Why?
D: To get more money.  You need to get more money to buy the things that you want.

J: You can only call me JJ on Wednesdays. Other days you have to call me Jensen.

D: My brain is excited to go on vacation! Mom, you have three brains, right? Are they all excited? J says excited means dinnertime, but excited means anywhere you want to go.

D: Was J in the world before me?
Me: No, you were born two minutes before him.
D: Then why is he taller and stronger than me?
Dad: You boys are going to grow at different rates. When J is skating and falls down, he doesn't give up and gets right back up.
Me: D, you use your brain a lot, and had more words before J.
J: Yeah, I lose my brain a lot.

Playing Uno ~
D: I need more black cards!

D: I can't change the color of my brains! They're just rainbow colored!

D: Today is Nanan's birthday! Yesterday was just his card day.

Me: You boys need a bath!
J: NOOOOOOO!  Jensen smells like good!

D: Mom, can you tell Dad, "Don't give Denton fish. Only give him candy for dinner."

J: NO CASS!  Stop being crazy!

(4/1) Dad went and picked up the teenager this morning.  She got signed up for driver's ed today.  Hold me.  She babysat the boys, and a bonus puppy that Dad's coworker dropped with us this weekend.  Dad and I got to go for a lovely date day.  We started at Acropolis for lunch, and then went wine tasting at DiStefano's in Woodinville.  It happened to be next to JP Trodden, which does small batch bourbon.  We sampled there, and tried their syrup, and wow.  We bought a bottle, which we're hiding from the kids. From there, we hit Locust Cider, and had a tasting there.  I love hard ciders, and there were 13 to choose from.  It was lovely to spend the day out with my guy!

(4/2)  The boys and I spent a lazy morning in.  I let them play video games because the weather was being capricious.  We attempted to go ride bikes after lunch, and got most of the way to the park, and it opened up and dumped on us.  Since we were already wet, I took them to the swim center to play.  I treated them to pie from the Snohomish Pie Co afterward, and completely spoiled their dinners.

(4/3) Work from home day for me.  Grandma came and grabbed the boys to take them back to her house for egg dyeing.  They were done in record time, and "only" did up 10 dozen!  The teenager and I went over for dinner after I got done with work and had some family time.

(4/4) Work day for Dad & me, and the boys all went to Amanda's.  I found D in J's bed this morning, and J was a huge grump, so I imagine somebody didn't get enough rest.  Early to bed for twinsies today!

(4/5) Happy birthday, Nanan!  Nanan came over, and the boys and I took her to go see Boss Baby. It was the twins' first movie, and they did really well.  Neither was keen on wearing their 3D glasses, and D moaned about "so many ads!" (previews).  J wandered a bit, but it was fine since we were close to the only ones there.  Nanan stayed with the boys this afternoon while Dad & I went off to Seattle to meet up with some friends we haven't seen in too long. We had a great evening with lots of laughs!

(4/6) We're headed to the beach!  We got all packed up and headed to Grayland, where we stayed in an Airbnb.  Cute place just off the water.  We stopped at Westport Lighthouse State Park to play and fly kites before we checked in.  It was absolutely beautiful out!  We came back into town for dinner at Bennett's. They have some pretty awesome chowdah and fish & chips.

(4/7) We woke up to a crazy storm today. We decided on a drive in the rain, and wanted to go to Campbell Tree Grove, but got most of the way there, and there was a tree down.  We drove around some other forest service roads and ended up at Wynoochee Lake/Dam, after a picnic lunch in the woods.  We drove back and stopped at Brady's Oysters for some seafood to cook up. The store lost power twice while Dad was making his purchase, so we crossed our fingers for power back at the house.  We never lost power, and Dad fixed up a feast of oysters, scallops, and some delicious cod.  We watched movies and played card games, and capped off a lovely evening together.

(4/8) Last day at the beach. Sadness.  It was pretty nice out, so after we cleaned up and locked up, we again drove on the beach before heading back home.  The storm sure frothed up the beach.  We stopped briefly so I could grab a handful of foam for the boys to touch, which didn't work as well as I thought, but oh well. The drive back was looooong, but my book was good, and the kiddos enjoyed the kajillion hours of screen time.

(4/9) Dad had to work today, but the boys, the teenager, and I went over for an early Easter at Grandma & Granddad's.  The boys had TONS of eggs to search for since they colored 10 dozen, plus there were nearly as many stuffed eggs.  They kept going out and bringing in more and more. The plush bunnies and walkie-talkies were a huge hit.  C let me know I wasn't doing a good job of "controlling the twins' sugar," through a mouthful of jellybeans.  I'm quite certain I heard a bus.  After a fun, family-filled Easter, I brought my sugar-crazed kiddos back, and we went over to Sarah's to burn some of it off.  I hauled all the wheeled things we own over, and predictably ended up carrying them most of both ways.  Thanks, kids.

(4/10) Work day for Dad & me, and school for the kiddos today.   Back to the grind!
