Dad Jokes R Us

Me: What do you want to eat?
C: Food. Oh wait, I've turned into Dad.
Me: ACK! Not another one!

D: I love you forever when you're in life
Me: You're not gonna love me when I'm no longer alive?
D: No, because then I can't find you.

Me (to D): You even have a St. Paddy's shirt to wear.
C: Didn't that used to be mine?
Me: Yep, you used to wear it as a kid. Er, when you were younger. You're still a kid.
C: No I'm not, I'm a ten-ager.

C: What, we're getting rid of the twins tomorrow?
J: NOOOOOOOO! I DON'T WANT YOU TO GET RID OF US!
Me: Oh honey, no!  He's just teasing!

J: Mom, how many steps do you have?
Me: 7,887.
J: D, how many steps do you have?
D: 9,439.
J: I win!  And Mom? I'd like to be paid now.

D made coffee
D: I found the Heart of Defeaty!
C (on DST): Feels weird getting up at 7. It feels like 6.

D: My new name is thunder bacon milkshake milkshake milkshake!

D: I didn't say hush because it means shut up, and is a bad word!
Me: No, hush is politer, and means be quiet.
Passing dad cracked up.

Dad: J, wipe that smirk off your face.
J (wipes face): There.

J: I have enough girl friends... Opa, and that guy that lives with Opa?

J: Mom!  I have a job that I want to do!
Me: Oh yeah, what's that?
J: I want to be a waiter.  So I just be patient, and then I get money!
Me: (laughing) That's not quite how that works, buddy.

Our new patio!
Proud of this kid ~ he was recognized in a school assembly this week, earning a Life Long Learner certificate (not the golden dustpan, lol) for his motivation and effort this last month. He's worked really hard ❤

(3/6) Work day for Dad & me, and school for the boys today.  I had a work event this evening, and didn't get home until just before it was time to put the twins to bed.

"I Love My Mom ❤ 800" ~ meaning 800%
(3/7) Day off for me, and my day to work in the boys' classroom.  We kicked off the day by walking the dogs to drop the boys off, and then I came back once I had run them back home.

(3/8) Work day for me, day off for Dad, & school for the boys.

(3/9) Work day for me, day off for Dad, & school for the boys.

(3/10) Last hockey game of the season! Eagles won the 10U Bronze Championship ~ woot woot!  C's teacher even made it out to the game to see him play.  After the game, Dad brought C home, and then drove up to Nanan's to help her with a car issue.  They ended up going car shopping, and after a very long day, signed papers on a Kia Niro.  Yay!  C stayed over at a friend's house tonight, but the twinsies got to stay up late so they could check out her new car.

(3/11) Of course the twins would wake up at the new 7:30a after being up two hours late the night before, because why not?  I didn't change their clock last night, so told them they had to stay in their room until their clock turned to 7.  C came home mid-morning, and I let the kiddos play on screens while I caught a few more Zs.  I eventually made us all go outside to play.

(3/12) Ugh, the Monday after DST. Send coffee.  J complained of a stomach ache before going to school today, but he didn't have a fever.  I decided to chance it, and got called on my lunch break that he had gotten sick at school.  Poor bubs.  I brought him home, and he slept the afternoon away.  He was fine later, and was mad that he had slept through dinner.  Noodley had obedience class this evening, so C & Dad went off to that, while I had a quiet couple of hours to myself.

(3/13) Work day for Dad & me.  J wasn't sure how his stomach was today, and was good with going back home and watching TV all day.  I dropped C & D at school & we drove back home to check J's temp. He was fine, so back to school we went.

(3/14) Happy Pi Day! We're having some work done in our back yard beginning with the removal of our deck. The deck just is not standing up to the dog claws, so we decided on something a little more durable: concrete.  The workers had the deck mostly out by the time I left to work in the boys' classes.  J's class had a guest teacher this afternoon, and I worked with another twin mom. We took a good portion of the class out to work on various projects, tag-teamed, and got everyone's work done. Since everyone's day was a little rough, when the twins asked to go to Narbeck, I said yes and took the three of us out for a short hike.  It was the perfect thing to do before pi(E)!

(3/15) Work day for me, day off for Dad, and school for the boys.

(3/16) Work day for me, day off for Dad, and school for the boys.  Dad, C, and some friends went to fan appreciation night at the Silvertips. C scored a retired stick signed by Ethan O'Rourke!  Also today, our new concrete patio was poured.  It looks awesome!

Dad made shepherd's pie
(3/17) Happy St. Paddy's Day!  The leprechauns left a few treats for the kiddos.  Nanan came to watch the twins this morning so we could go see Hamilton!  Opa treated us to tickets and it was amazing!  C was pretty put out that he "had to go see another play" at first, but by intermission had completely changed his mind.  We capped off a fun day in Seattle with dinner at Spuds.

YUSSSSS!
Thanks Dad & Lori!
(3/18) C made me breakfast in bed this morning.  He made monkey bread (all by himself!), and it was delicious!  He was harping on D that he needed to eat before he could play screens (which is my rule), but I didn't know that D had gotten sick in the night.  Exceptions definitely made for sick tummies!  D was pretty miserable most of the day, and slept a good portion. After a long nap, he woke up and wanted to go outside, so we all went out for a short walk down to the playground.

(3/19) Work day from home for me.  C stayed home sick today with the stomach bug. Dad ended up coming home not feeling so well too.  I took Noodle to his obedience class tonight where he failed heeling completely, but we got some solid work on sits and downs. Noodle does not understand Starbucks at all, and barked at the barista.  Silly pup! Needs some practice!

(3/20) Play day at work for me today!  We're saying goodbye to our CEO, and threw her a champagne brunch, and then she took us all bowling.  We're so going to miss her!  C felt better today, and was able to go back to school.  Dad stayed home today not feeling 100%, but better.  Dear plague, GO AWAY!

(3/21) The boys and I walked all the dogs to school today.  I walked the dog-boys home, and then turned around to go back to work in D's class.  It's conference week next week, so I helped out doing some testing this morning. Sarah ended up being home with a sick kiddo, so we got a walk in the sunshine after I was finished.  I came home for a brief stop, and then headed back to school to work in J's class.  The kids were putting together recordings for their conferences, and I helped them with taking a picture of their self portraits. So much cute!  C had an appointment after school today, and I thought that the twins and I would get to sneak out for a park run, but it started to rain.  Harrumph.

(3/22) Work day for me, day off for Dad, and school for the boys. Dad made a delicious dinner of garlic honey drumsticks, which the boys so kindly offered to help me eat when I got home.

(3/23) Work day for me, day off for Dad, and the boys only have a half day today.  They've been looking forward to that all week!

It's like Magic!

Every fire alarm we pass ~
D: Don't think about it!

C: J was drawing on himself again.
J: I was not!
C: Then why is there orange marker on your face?
J: You see, it was magic.
Dad: Marker. Like magic. Was it by any chance a Magic Marker?
J and D (giggling): YES!

J: I just want to stay in real life. Because I just love it so much.
Me: I'm glad you love it, and you have many many years ahead.
J: I just want to go back and be a baby.
Me: You can't go back to being a baby, but you might have a baby of your own when you're older.
D: Only girls have babies, Mom.
Me: Well yes, but I meant he could some day be a daddy.

Checked my phone in the drive thru ~
D: Don't forget to drive, Mom.

C: PUT SOME CLOTHES ON!! D, I HATE SEEING YOU NAKED! And so does Jimmy!

D: This left turn is taking too long!
I was instructed to text this to Dad & C,
and to put it on FB.
(2/16) Dad & I were off today, and busily got us ready for vacation.  We set off for Wapato for the weekend as soon as the kiddos got from school.

Brudders!
Breakfast of champions!
(2/17) As luck would have it, a winter storm blew through this weekend.  I had pre-paid our lift and rentals, so C & I slogged our way to Stevens at a blistering 35 mph. It took us around three hours, but we got there! It was snowing hard today, and the wind was gusting, so we were quickly wet and miserable.  We broke for lunch, and decided against going back out.  We slogged back home, and wished we had hit Mission Ridge instead.  Oh well.  I tried; I really did.  The twins and Dad had snow back at the condo in Chelan, and the people above us had kiddos too, so they had a great afternoon of sledding and snowman building.

(2/18) The boys had a great day playing video games, and playing outside.  I took them swimming this afternoon, and one of our braniac children came out of the locker room still wearing his pants...that he had showered in. /facepalm   Thankfully, I had driven there, so it was just a quick run out to the car and back inside.

(2/19) We had a lovely lazy day today. The boys played on screens, and out in the snow on their sleds again. I took a long walk and spotted a deer.  So pretty!

(2/20) We checked out & drove home today.  We said no to the kids watching any more Beavis & Butthead (quality parents right here!). We should probably just apologize to their teachers now.  Haha.  It was a fun vacation, but it was time to get back to reality.

(2/21) I volunteered in D's class this morning, and got a call that J was in the nurse's office.  I stopped by, and he was complaining of ear pain. I made him a doctor's appointment, and he has a nasty double ear infection.  Boo.  Meds and drops for a spell for him. I ran the twins back to be with Dad so I could take C to his appointment, then ran C home so Dad could take him to hockey.  Whirlwind Wednesday!

(2/22) Work day for me, day off for Dad, and school for the boys. Dad ran the car in for some maintenance, and picked me up for lunch today.  It was nice to see him!  The twins and I went to the gym tonight, and then it was bedtime.

(2/23) Work day for me, day off for Dad, and school for the boys.  The twins and I went to see The Little Prince today at the Seattle Children's Theatre.  It was so well done ~ I read the book back in high school, and it was fun to see as an adult with a different perspective. It was so well done.  The twins seemed to enjoy it, even though they won't 'get' it for many years yet.

(2/24) I went to Zumba this morning, and Dad stayed home with the boys and made Dutch Babies. Thankfully a few survived, so I got some too.  C's last game of the season was today - they won handily.  Fun to watch, especially since it's one of the very few they've won this season.

(2/25) Sarah and I walked to class this morning, first in the rain, and then home in the snow.  Once we got home, and warmed up, we lost all motivation to go anywhere else.  We were supposed to go to the hockey game tonight, but Dad hadn't requested off work, so wasn't able to join us. We decided to stay home, and had a lovely night in.

(2/26) Work day from home for me, work at work for Dad, & school for the boys.  Noodle had his first obedience class tonight, and he was pretty overwhelmed by all of it.  C is handling him for the class, and we're hopeful it'll be a good experience for both of 'em.

(2/27) Work day for Dad & me, and school for the boys.  C was working his puppy this morning, and our other dog was moaning and groaning because he couldn't join in.  It was super cute.  Tuesdays are meeting days for me, and I was definitely ready to come home after a day chock-full.

(2/28) I got to visit my new nephew today. He and his parents are doing awesome.  I totally derped and forgot to take any photos.  Oh darn; I'll have to go visit again.  I didn't work in the boys' classes like I normally do, but still went to pick them up.  I ran into Dad, who was home early, at the school.  He took D in for a hair cut, with which D was just thrilled, and I took the other boys home.

Everybody doin' their makeup
(3/1) Work day for me, school for the boys, and Dad had the day off.  C had been working his dog before I got home, and Cass was just itching to go by the time I walked in.  D and I took both the big dogs out for a spin around the neighborhood.  We stopped at a local park, and D played with some neighborhood kids until it got too dark, and then we headed home.

(3/2) Work day for me, school for the boys, and Dad had the day off.  C had a friend over, and Dad took them to the hockey game this evening.  The twins and I stayed home.  For some reason Dad chose tonight to give the twins caffeine for the first time ever, and D was literally vibrating.  He does not ever need more amping!  Holy cats.

(3/3) I caught a coffee walk with Sarah this morning.  This afternoon, I went up to pick up Nanan and S for the weekend.  Nanan took C to see the Journal of Ben Uchida at the Children's Theatre tonight, and said it was excellent.  S went to go see a movie with a friend, and since it was finally sunny out, the twins and I went to the park and played until it was too dark to see.  We then came home and watched a movie we had rented.  Dad took a late shift today because his office was short-staffed.

(3/4) Fun day at Comic Con today!  S went as Kim Possible this year, and I went as an adult. I think I found the perfect t-shirt for next year though, so will keep it in mind.  Nanan watched the boys for me today, since Dad had to work.  I got the boys t-shirts - Puglie for C, and Beavis & Butthead for the twins.  They are big fans.

(3/5) Work day for Dad & me today, and school for the boys.  Noodle has obedience class tonight, so even he is getting in on the schooling.
