Chasing Waterfalls

(9/6) The kids headed back to school today. 11th grade for C and 6th (middle school) for the twins. C's bus never appeared, so I drove him and then hurried back home to make lunches for the other two and get them out the door. They all had pretty good days. D went to Robotics twice by accident and J got a little turned around but managed to find someone with a map that could help him. C had a full school day and then went to work tonight. He is going to be exhausted by the end of the week! I promised the crew Chinese food this evening and cooked everything up so it was ready when they got home from school.

(9/7) Sarah and I met for a walk and decided to sleep in tomorrow. This time of year is an adjustment for everyone. C successfully caught the bus today and the boys went off to school mostly unhurried and on-time. I worked from home and Dad took our foster dog, Dottie, to an adoption meeting. It was love at first sight and we're just thrilled that this sweet girl found some new people.

(9/8) I worked from home today and it was a good thing since C opened the door and we heard his bus drive by. I ran him to school and then came back to get the twins ready. Dad took the car in for new tires and brought home a delicious lunch.

(9/9) Today was a lazy day. We had no plans and stayed in our jammies until late and didn't go anywhere.

(9/10) I slept in this morning and then came down to read my book. Once I finished the book I was reading, I started another on audio and went out for a walk. I joined the ladies for book club this afternoon and added several more books to my TBR shelf, which is again hovering close to 1,000. Outta control!

(9/11) It's going to be a busy week. The kids have a full week of school and we're all still adjusting to the new routine. I worked from home and everybody successfully got out the door on time today. Small victories!

(9/12) We all had work and school today. Meeting Tuesday was busy as ever and I was feeling pretty fried by the time I got home. Thank goodness for a day off tomorrow!

(9/13) I had the day off today and the boys made their Wednesday WinCo requests before they headed off to school. Without them in tow, I still managed to spend as much since I bought bulbs and a plant that was on sale. I have so much to plant... and have a big order of bulbs coming next month. Hopefully next spring will be really colorful!

(9/14) I worked in the building today. Most of our staff was off at an event and we were all relieved when it turned out to be a quiet day. C's school had picture day ~ he dressed up for his yearly mug shot. Lookin' sharp!

(9/15) I worked from home today and since we were so short staffed again Dad ran J to the orthodontist. He'll be getting brackets at his next appointment.

(9/16) I slept in today and it was needed. We were supposed to meet up with the grands this afternoon but D was sniffling and coughing so we decided to postpone. We did order dinner in as a treat from Nick Jr's. Dad tried the grilled cheese bacon cheeseburger which has grilled cheese sandwiches as a bun. Outrageous but delicious!

(9/17) The boys and I bummed around the house for most of the day. I went out briefly to grab more potting soil to start getting the flower beds transitioned to winter over and picked up this cute cactus. The pups joined me outside until the booms started going off. Yaaaay, football. Eyeroll.

(9/18) Monday again. Got the boys up and out the door and then settled in to work from home. Dad took the afternoon off and went to go pick up our hockey tickets for the season. Can't believe it's already time!

(9/19) We all had work and school today. I worked from home since the boys had dentist appointments in the middle of the day. They were in and out in about fifteen minutes so we went to McDonald's as is tradition after the dentist. We opted to go inside and enjoy a leisurely lunch and then piled back in the car to go back to school for the rest of the day.

(9/20) I had the day off today and everybody else had work and school. I did a whole lot of nothing today and it was really relaxing. The boys decided on continuing Chinese food Wednesdays, so we made up a few things for dinner.

(9/21) I worked in the building today. The day went a little sideways on me when normally Thursdays are my quiet day. I got most things sorted and am hoping for a less eventful day tomorrow.

(9/22) I worked from home today, the boys had school, and Dad had the day off. The dogs kept forgetting that one of us was home and would start up the symphony (howling). Such goobers! Thankfully today was a lot slower and I was able to work on my class without interruption.

(9/23) Sarah and I went for a walk to Starbucks this morning where I got talked into a fancy pumpkin concoction. It was pretty tasty! Dad, C & I went to the Silvertips home opener tonight. The game ended with a beautiful empty-net goal and we won 5-3. Great way to kick off the season!

(9/24) I slept in a little this morning and then came down and read my book without turning on AFV for Miss River. She was very unimpressed. We went up for my nephew's birthday party this afternoon and J had a blast playing on the gym equipment and during the nerf war. D was only in it for the pizza and was ready to go almost as soon as we got there, but we managed to change his grumpy mood around by the time we got home.

(9/25) Sarah and I passed on walking in the deluge this morning and I opted for the much dryer option and treadmilled on my lunchbreak. Fall has definitely arrived! It's going to be a very soggy week so C and I went out to get him a new coat this evening.

(9/26) The boys had some minor schedule changes at school today. C's school lost teachers and the twins' gained some. It sounds like most of the changes were okay and we can hopefully work out the kinks for next semester. I worked in the building today and Dad worked from home since he was not feeling so great.

(9/27) I had the day off and went up to be with Nanan for her appointment this afternoon. I didn't quite make it home in time to meet the twins after school but they were very excited for me to start cooking as soon as I walked in the door. Another Chinese food Wednesday in the books!

(9/28) It was a work and school day for the boys and me and Dad had the day off. He set up the twins' new phones and we gave them to them tonight as early birthday presents. Can't believe they're gonna be 12!

(9/29) I worked from home today and the boys had school. Dad was still feeling cruddy so we opted to stay in tonight instead of going to the hockey game.

(9/30) We met Opa, Cherissa and Isaiah at Game On this morning so the boys could play before the Mariner's game this evening. D got to try Dippin Dots, which he has begged for since the last time we went. We had lunch there too and then parted ways until the game. Our seats were great--too bad the playing wasn't and we're out of the playoffs but c'est la vie. It was great to see the fam!

(10/1) It's October 1st, and that means it's officially time to decorate! The boys helped me set out all our decorations and figure out how we were gonna plug everything in. We got some new additions at the end of last year and that meant a lil rearranging was in order.

(10/2) I'm on vacation this week and kicked it off with a medical appointment for me, and then met Nanan for her appointment this afternoon. We went to lunch at Buzz Inn and I rolled in just as the kids were getting home from school.

(10/3) I had a nice, quiet day after the men all left for school and work. I took my book out for a long walk to pick up lunch and then came home to watch the shenanigans on the news (today was the ousting of the House Speaker). Dad ordered us pizza tonight and I was home to cook it for once!

(10/4) I got up at our normal early-squirrely walking time to catch up with Sarah. After everybody was off to school and work, I did a whole lot of nothing until the boys got home. We then made Chinese food again and C even did up some fried rice before he headed to work. Yum!

(10/5) D got to sleep in this morning because he had a well child visit. Poor dude got three vaccines and was not real happy to head back to school. I did buy him lunch first though! After I dropped him off, Dad headed out to some estate sales and I went out for a walk with my book.

(10/6) I played garage Tetris today in an attempt to make room for the plants that will need to come in for the winter. Yeahhhh, about that. Imma need a bigger garage.

(10/7) We had the fam out for dinner today. Summer had one last gasp and it was 80°F and perfect for barbecuing! We played Nertz and and had polar pizza to celebrate the twins turning 12 next week. We had such a good time and it was great to see the folks!

(10/8) It was a beautiful day to take the Mustang out for one last hurrah before putting it to bed for the winter! We ran out to Snoqualmie Falls, stopped at our favorite winery, and then went to lunch before coming home and succumbing to a food coma.

(10/9) Back to the grind today. At least I get to kick my work week off by working from home and got to catch such a spectacular sunrise!

(10/10) I was up early today to go for a walk with Sarah before heading into work. It was a busy, meeting-filled Tuesday with lots to do and catch up on.

(10/11) Happy birthday twinsies! They had school today and I had the day off. They requested sushi and Chinese food for dinner and we had to pick up some ice cream for their special day too.

(10/12) I worked in the building today, the boys had school, and Dad had the day off. The kiddos have a three day weekend and they're looking forward to that!
