Fire Horse Comin' In Hot

(2/1) After eight hours of nosebleed extravaganza yesterday, we didn't do a darn thing today. D had a rough time sleeping but is not bleeding and the packing appears to be holding. Poor buddy. I hope he can get the packing out first thing tomorrow.

(2/2) I took the day off and called to get D into the ENT. Unfortunately, it turned out that he needed to leave the packing in another day. He was disappointed and is uncomfortable, but is hanging in there.

(2/3) I worked in the office today and Dad wrangled the kiddos. He took D to the ENT this afternoon and got the packing in his nose taken out. Everything is so inflamed and hard to see, so the plan is to wait and see how he does over the next few days, and if he has another bleed to get right back in.

(2/4) After the kiddos went off to school, I ran breakfast and groceries to Nanan. D requested sushi and J requested WinCo items so I pre-shopped before I headed out to shop again for Nanan. By the end of the day, I had hit five different grocery stores to get everybody's wish list items.

(2/5) I worked at home, Dad worked at work, and the boys had school. I forgot to warn J about his appointment this afternoon and he had already transitioned to stay-home mode and was a bear to get back out the door. It resolved well though and we will be moving to appointments every other week and seeing how he does.

(2/6) It was a work and school day for most of us. This week has felt like a marathon and I was so very glad to cross the finish line. C has come down with the creeping crud and spent the day sequestered in his room. Hope he is feeling better soon!

(2/7) I went to the gym this morning and then came home to sloth the rest of the day. Dad had the day off too and we got to watch our shows and had a relaxing day at home.

(2/8) I'm not a huge football fan, but I put on the Puppy Bowl this morning for River. Once that was over, I dispensed medicinal cheeseballs because fireworks are terrifying for our pups. Noodle got good and stoned and just stood looking at the open door not knowing what to do. My neighborhood was still lighting off fireworks for hours after the game so I'm glad I dosed the furkids. I *loved* the halftime show and won the Superbowl square at work for the final score. Woot woot!!

(2/9) I worked in the office, the boys had school, and Dad had the day off. I took class on school avoidance with the Washington Autism Alliance and learned a ton! I'm glad that my kiddos are doing so well, but knowing where to turn if things change is great!

(2/10) I worked in the office today and Dad worked at work. It was pizza Tuesday and D had the oven all preheated for me once I got home.

(2/11) I've been putting off the inspection for Nanan's water heater replacement for a long time now and I finally scheduled it for today. It had a bunch of inspections listed but it turned out to be a two minute appointment, and then I was off to grocery shop for her. I got home in time to WinCo Weds for the boys. River had a dental and the poor thing had five teeth extracted. She was so sad when I had to pick up all the toys tonight.

(2/12) It was a work and school day for us all today. I made chicken for dinner tonight and I could tell D approved because he stole the skin.

(2/13) Oy, what a day! I worked from home, the kiddos had school, and C went up with his friends to work at Nanan's. Unfortunately, he discovered her cat had bitten her and it was severely infected. I went out to go meet them at the walk-in and my tire was pancake flat. It was pouring, so I asked him to take her to the clinic. It was decided that it would be better for her to go to the hospital from there and be admitted for IV antibiotics. C brought her to me and we headed to the ER in his car, and finally managed to get her tucked in around 2a.

(2/14) Happy Valentine's Day! I came home to sleep for a while and met Sarah to attend a sign waiving event for a few hours. Dad limped my car to the tire shop and got that taken care of for me. Darn screw! I went in to visit Nanan for a few hours and it looks like she'll be here another night. I stopped to grab clams from the fish market on my way home and Dad made a surf and turf feast!

(2/15) Dad and I went to brunch at Salt and Iron this morning. I had an amazing crab Benedict and Dad had a steak bennie. I headed over to the hospital in the afternoon and stayed for a few hours. It looks like she might be discharged tomorrow.

(2/16) The boys are off this week on mid-winter break. Sarah and I went for a walk and I came home to hang with Dad for a bit. When I visited Nanan this afternoon her hand was still really hurting, so they will be doing an MRI in the morning. That means another night in the hospital. It's our sweet River-girl's third gotcha day with us. We celebrated with cookies!

(2/17) The boys headed over to see the grands today. I stayed behind to go visit Nanan after she had surgery on her wrist. She'll be in the hospital another night until they're sure the infection has cleared. C brought J home, and D decided to stay a few nights. I'm so glad they could go play since I've been unavailable.

(2/18) The plan for Nanan is for her to go to assisted living to manage her meds while she's on them. That will supposedly happen soon-ish. It snowed a tiny bit tonight and she called all worried about me driving. I can handle this, lol.

(2/19) J has been watching online auctions since he really, really wants a new (old) Nintendo 3DS. I stopped by the hospital to visit Nanan and then came home to grab him for his appointment. He was so focused / stressed about watching his auctions that I told him I would watch them for him so he could concentrate on his appointment. His therapist came out an hour later and told me that he had completely zonked out and was now deeply asleep in her office. Ha!

(2/20) Dad was off today and met D at the ferry. He took him down to RE-PC to look at some retro Nintendo units. D was a kid in a candy store and had a great time. The grands had fun with him, but I sure have missed him!

(2/21) I took D to Half Priced Books to look at some games for the Wii that he picked up yesterday, and he was disappointed to find someone had swiped the disc of the only one he was interested in. We checked out Game Stop too but didn't find anything good. Harrumph.

(2/22) Today was miserable. Nanan was convinced that she got to go home and was crushed every time she found out that she isn't just yet. While I was dealing with that, S called with the devastating news that her grandmother had passed. Our hearts are broken for her.

(2/23) The kiddos headed back to school, C had work, and Dad and I were off. I'm taking the next few days off while we figure out where Nanan will land. Today was much better and hopefully we'll be moving her tomorrow!

(2/24) Everybody had work and school today except for me. C finished up his seventh day in a row at work and is ready for a few days off. It was a rough one for Nanan. She's over this hospital business and they haven't told us anything yet, so we're still in limbo.

(2/25) It was a work and school for Dad and the boys. C and F went up to Nanan's and were cleaning machines. I'm excited to see what all they've done, and was super impressed with the pictures! Below is the mischief maker that has caused all this trouble. I visited Nanan this afternoon and spoke with her doctor. The plan is still to move her to rehab and they're just waiting on a bed.

(2/26) Rough day for the J today and I ended up picking him up from school. His teacher is not here this week and he's been completely exhausted when he gets home from school. I visited Nanan this afternoon and we're getting the same story about waiting for a bed to open up, so she's still there.

(2/27) Dad was off today and made breakfast cheese steaks for C and me after the kiddos headed to school. They were delicious! I snuck in some gardening before heading out to the hospital and finally got the beast of a hydrangea pruned. Nanan was told she got to leave tomorrow and was in a great mood. The nurse I spoke to said today or tomorrow though, which is what we've been told all along, so I think I'll just appear in the afternoon like I have been.

(2/28) I hit the gym this morning. Since the hospital doesn't seem to do anything very early, I felt safe sneaking in a class. Dad took the twins to Another Castle Video Game store and then to lunch. Dad is pretty sure D now wants to work there just so he can go and have lunch at H-Mart and surrounding restaurants every day. The hospital officially says that Nanan is discharging to a rehab facility to finish out her care tomorrow. She's so ready to go!
