We Are Fa-mi-ly!

Me: What should we do today?
J: Go play Declan!
D: And Bridgette! And *mumble*
Me: Ash and Uncle Mat?
D: Yeah!
Me: Yeah, that would be fun. Lots of driving but fun!

D: I had fun at pictures!

(4/28) Work day for Dad and me, and Sarah had my boys.  Traffic was predictably horrible, but Sarah & I did manage to squeeze in an appearance at the gym at the end of the day.  We got home kind of late and then it was time for the boys to go to bed. Whirlwind Tuesday... always.

(4/29) Dad's brother and family are in town and we arranged to get the littles together at the museum.  The twins have decided the logo looks like an ice cream cone with a spider on top. It's hard to really visit in the museum since my kids take off in all directions and I spend my time roaming to check on them.  We decided on lunch after and ended up at a favorite Mexican joint where there were screams until each kid got his or her own bowl of beans.  We had a really fun lunch and it was so good to see them. The boys were super exhausted so I put them down for a really late nap after we got C.  Nanan came to stay with the boys while I ran the teen to her appointment.  We also watched Sarah's boys tonight, so I ran back home to meet them, throw the pizza in the oven then back out to retrieve the teen.  There was an all-out neighborhood Nerf war that broke out this evening. It progressed until the sun went down.  And then I was all kinds of DONE and was relieved to put everyone in bed and ignore the world for a while.

(4/30) I had the day off today and we had a chill morning, aside from some really exciting news: Dad got a new job! We are so excited for him!  We will even--hopefully--see him around more, which is awesome news for this mama!  After Dad went to work and the littles were down, I again tried to fix the lawn mower.  No dice, so it was time to call in reinforcements.  Granddad said he'd be right over.  And not only did he fix the mower, but he mowed the lawn for me AND grabbed some eggs for the teenager's baking project. Score!  It was great to see the grands since they are off adventuring on the boat or to Hawaii this weekend.  So jealous!

(5/1) Work day for me and Dad had the kiddos. We went to dinner at a new buffet near us and while we first balked at the price, found it was worth every penny.  The sushi was delicious and the kids made a serious dent at the dessert bar.  Dad got to see his brother and family and they finally got to meet our teenager. They came back to the house afterward and the teenager kidnapped my niece to force her to watch Ponies upstairs, while Dec played trains with the boys.  It was a wonderful evening - I really wish we were closer.

(5/2) We had our family pictures taken by my cousin in his new studio today - I'm just thrilled for him!  The studio is beautiful and since we happened to be in Seattle, we treated the kids to Spuds on the way home. Between D & the teenager, I have over 750 selfies on my iPod this week.  After a delicious meal and fun morning, we returned home for nap.  The gaming group came over and brought dinner with them later, and I think we about whacked 48 tacos between all of us. Dear gym, I will appear for penance posthaste.

(5/3) The teen left early for her visit and the rest of us lounged around in our pajamas for a long time this morning.  I took the boys out to play in the back yard while I read my book in the sunshine.  They stayed out there through lunch and wailed about coming in for nap.  The teen returned in the afternoon and spent the rest of the day watching movies.  We talked about going out, but the twins didn't get up until almost 5p and then I had to make dinner and all that.  Really, why must they eat every. single. night?!  I took them back outside to play some more after dinner and got them plenty dirty for bath time later.  I got laundry going, boys in baths, and we promptly blew the circuit in the house. Awesome.  We ended up blowing it a few more times, but I got most of the Sunday chores done.

(5/4) Happy Star Wars Day ~ May the Fourth Be With You!  Busy day on tap.  The bigs have school, Dad & I have work, Sarah has the littles, Nanan has the big boy, and I have a meeting at the teenager's school after work.
