Everything's Better with Frosting

J: Mooooooom, I just want to go swimming.
It's 42°. Uhm, no.

Me: We're going to Grandma's for Easter, and you guys get to stay in the Nintendo room.
D: Unless Craig and Roxxy come, then we can play on the Nintendo Switch!
Me: Aw buddy, I'm not sure they can come. They live in California.
D: California?! How can there be a state called California when there's already a California roll?

Teacher: Do you score in every hockey game?
J: Just sometimes I do!

Saying goodnight to Dad

Me: Good morning!
J: I don't want to go to school.
Me: We got a little snow last night.
J: Good, so now there's no school!
Me: Sorry buddy, there's not enough to cancel.
J: Oohhhh!

D refuses to get up ~
Me: I have special Valentine's chocolate....
The D-mummy rises.

Me: Do you want a peanut butter jelly for breakfast?
J: No, not on that bread! On a quesadilla! (tortilla)

Weeeeeeeeee!

Me: You just have to go up and down the magic carpet five times, and then you can decide that you don't like snowboarding.
D: I don't like snowboarding because the boys' bathroom stinks.
Me: That's not a good reason.

C: It's hard to get used to doing work again.
Ironic considering he did none in class today.

J: It's just a little cold out because of the frosting.

J: Can we go say goodbye to the Treehouse?
Me: You still remember that house?  We haven't lived there in over a year.
J: Yeah, and I just wanted to say goodbye.

A Weight Watchers ad comes on ~

D: We need to hurry before February 12th!
Me: Why?
D: Cuz I want to do it!
Me: You don't need to do it, silly.

D: I just really love Jordan.
Aww!

Me: Is Denton still sleeping?
J: DENTON?!  ARE YOU SLEEPING?!  JUST TELL ME IF YOU ARE!

D: J, here, go on the tablet so you can settle down. J, here, I will help you.

D: I'm only going to eat candy with the love sign on them! (hearts)

(2/2) Work day for me, and Dad had the boys.  C is still sick, and spent the afternoon shoveling the driveway in his Roblox game. Goofball.

(2/3) Today was Star Wars night at the Silvertips.  C is still sick, so Dad went on his own. He asked J if he wanted to go, but J was tired, and it was a late game, so the boys all stayed home with me.  Dad said it was a great game, so I'm glad he got to go!  We pulled C from today and tomorrow's hockey games, and I've gotta say, I was not bummed to miss the one in Tacoma tomorrow.

(2/4) I told C today that his mission was to shower and put on clothes.  He's been in his robe all week, and is finally starting to sound better, but not smell better.  D and I went to the gym this morning. I promised him a treat for good behavior.  He decided on a sucker.  As I pulled into a very full grocery store parking lot, I remembered that today was the Superbowl.  We did a u-turn, and I stopped by the coffee stand, and scored a sucker for him there.  Phew!

(2/5) C finally got to go back to school today after a week off due to illness.  He was really not feeling it, and pretty much refused to do any work.  He was furious that that meant no screen time.  Since D also had a challenging day, the afternoon was full of complaining and mad kiddos.  Sorry, dudes, but you gotta do the work to earn screens.

(2/6) Work day for Dad & me.  Nanan picked up the kiddos for us, and then hit the road after Dad got home.

(2/7) Day off for me, and my day to work in the twins' classrooms.  D was a pistol today, and refused to do any work in class.  He resisted doing an assignment allll morning that took him a whopping six minutes at home.  Six.  Good golly.   His teacher asked if he is this rambunctious at home too.  Ha.

(2/8) Work day for me, and Dad had the boys. I had more homework to do with D tonight, which took him longer today, but he still did it with relatively little complaining.  Now if this would just translate to school....

(2/9) Work day for me, day off for Dad, and the boys had school.  Dad scheduled Noodle for neutering today because he has obedience class coming up here soon!  We also had a Silvertips game tonight, but it was a late one, and I was just fine with staying home with the twinsies while Dad & C went.  Marc grabbed my ticket and went with them too.  They filled up the hybrid for the first time tonight - 91 mpg!  Woot!

(2/10) The boys had their last lesson (of 3) today at snowboarding school.  D realllllly did not want to go because the boys' bathroom smelled.  LOL! I told him not to drink anything, and then he wouldn't have to use it. I also told him that he needed to go up and down the magic carpet five times, and then I wouldn't bring him again if he truly did not like snowboarding.  We scheduled them for an afternoon lesson, and left here at 9am.  It was beautiful today, so of course, there was no parking when we arrived. Granddad dropped us, then drove out to the rest area to wait for something to open up. Sarah took her boys up for ski lessons today too, so my plan for the day was to get up there, lunch the boys, drop them at school, and then grab some coffee and hang with her.  The line for rental gear was ridiculous, which further cemented my choice.  It was a good thing I didn't ski anyway, because D's instructor called after a couple of hours saying that D refused to even come outside.  I went in, had a chat with him, which ended in him yelling that I was "SO NOT FAIR," and me leaving after warning him that he'd lose his screen time on the way back down the mountain unless he did his five runs.  I stood outside and watched, and he eventually did come out with his class.  He let his board go a few times, just getting to the the magic carpet.  Then he ran up and down the slope a few times, and pegged people with snowballs.  His instructor finally got him to sit, attached him to the board, and got him to come down.  They went up for their second run, and D again sailed his board down the hill multiple times.  He then started grabbing large ice chunks to drop on his classmates, and that was it.  She delivered him to me, and excused him from the rest of class.  Oh, Deedles..  C got a run in on Daisy after class with Grandma, Granddad, Jor, & Jason.  After that, we packed up and headed home.  Traffic was a nightmare, so we dinnered at McDonald's to hopefully let some of it pass us by.  Aside from the Deedle incident, it was a very fun day!

(2/11) Nanan came down so I could go to the Love 'em or Leave 'em 5k run around Green Lake. I went with Kristin from work, and we wore our tutus that we made at work the other day.  The announcer even complimented us on our style.  It was a COLD, but beautiful day.  And we hit the mimosa garden afterward, then speed-walked to Starbucks to warm up.  After I got home, and had de-momcicled, we went to dinner at IHOP.  Dad and C ordered the 'all you can eat' pancakes, and C managed more than Dad.  I fear our food budget when they're all in their teens!

(2/12) I worked from home today, Dad worked at work, and the boys had school.  C went back to hockey now that he's finally not hacking up a lung anymore.

(2/13) Work day for Dad & me, and school for the boys.  Tuesdays are always long days, and once I got home, we got to sit and watch the Olympics together.

(2/14) What fun!  I volunteered in the twins' classes today, and they had a Silvertips assembly. I sat with D, who usually has trouble sitting through assemblies, and he did a great job.  We then went back to his class where I helped him finish up some work he refused to do yesterday, which was fun stuff wherein he needed to prepare his valentine's bag. In J's class, I helped the kiddos distribute their treats.  J's teacher was smart, and didn't give them their bags until the very end of the day, where she handed them out stapled shut for the kiddos to eat at home.  The boys had lots of treats today, but still managed to have great days at school, and at the gym.  Proud of them!

C's V-Day bag
D: Do you want me to color this with the
love color?
(2/15) I'm off from work for the rest of this week to enjoy some family fun.  The kiddos have school today, but Dad and I are off together.  That hardly ever happens!
