(4/2) Dad and I had the day off together and once we got the boys off to school, we got to have a nice lunch together. I took our foster pup up to meet a potential adopter this afternoon and it was a match. I'm so happy for him!
(4/3) I worked from home, Dad worked at work, and the boys had school today. Sarah and I went to go see Abby Jimenez tonight in Seattle. I love her books and it sounds like the new one is going to rip my heart out. I love her stuff though; witty rom coms are my jam! The woman asking her the audience questions was fantastic too and had us all in stitches.
(4/4) I worked from home today, Dad worked at work, and the boys had a short day at school. I think Dad & I should get to work a half day too! The boys and I are now on spring break, which of course is already packed with all the things.
(4/5) I ran up to Nanan's this morning to see if I could get her car running. Thankfully it was just a dead battery and was quickly resolved. I brought her birthday flowers and coffee and we visited to for a bit. I wasn't able to stay too long since we planned to attend the Hands Off protest. I was pleased our local reps were there and speaking out. The turnout everywhere was amazing ~ I hope the people keep it up!
(4/6) I spent a quiet day home with the boys. C wasn't feeling great today so called out sick. I made a huge pot of chicken soup, but didn't time things well and ended up jumping up to stir it during book club. It turned out yummy though!
(4/7) I went to Nanan's to meet the flooring company for measurements. Turns out the contractor also does drywall so we're having him do the walls too! Dad and D went grocery shopping and when our plans got cancelled for the evening, D made guacamole and we had a snacky sort of dinner.
(4/8) It was rainy out today so most of us hunkered down inside. C loves this kind of weather and chose to go hiking with his friends. They hiked all the way to Lake Serene, which is a tough slog at the end with a lot of steep switchbacks. He came home water logged and very sore, but seemed to have had a great time.
(4/9) D had a medical appointment this morning. I'm officially THE WORST for scheduling appointments on spring break. I bribed him with a Slurpee to just get through it, and he did. We met my folks for lunch on the beach this afternoon. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed our time together. I took advantage of the nice weather and power washed our patio when we got home. It's no longer green and looking so much better!
(4/10) I rejoined the gym this week and finally made it to class this morning. When I got home, I got the lawn-moss mowed. I weeded for a bit but went inside once it started to rain. The twins had dental appointments this afternoon (once again, I'm the WORST for planning things on break) and as is tradition, we went to McD's after.
(4/11) C and I went up to Nanan's to remove the remaining carpet and get it ready for new floors. Nanan treated us to a late lunch after and C drove her car back to our place to work on tomorrow.
(4/12) I met the contractors up at Nanan's early this morning. I mowed and whacked her lawn while they worked. Everything is lookin' good! C washed and detailed Nanan's car and gave it an oil change. It runs so much better now.
(4/13) Sarah and I walked to Zumba this morning. I sure have missed being able to walk to class! And what a beautiful day for it! I missed fuchsia day yesterday so went to Fred Meyer to get some starts and potted up my hanging planters.
(4/14) I worked in the building today and Dad wrangled the boys. He and J took the goodest boi for a walk on the pier before school this morning and made a stop at the bakery. Lucky boys!
(4/15) I worked in the office again today and I went to kickboxing after. Class seriously kicked my butt and I'll definitely go back next week! C and I were finally in the same place and got a chance to watch our show tonight. He made popcorn and instantly had a fan club.
(4/16) Dad and I had the day off together. He did the school run and I wandered outside to garden in my pajamas. I had to pull the fence back out to save the glads that are just breaking ground. The squirrel patrol does not watch where they're stepping! Dad brought home sushi and we got to have lunch together. Shh, don't tell the boys!
(4/17) Sarah and I went for a walk together before work this morning. I ran out to grab Easter stuff on my lunch break and picked up poster board and markers for the weekend.
(4/18) I worked from home again today. I had an IEP meeting this afternoon and I'm feeling optimistic about the plan. The boys came home completely done with everything school and ready for the weekend. Me too boys, me too!
(4/19) Sarah and I hit the gym for a class this morning and then met back up to go wave signs along Broadway. Friends that drove along the route said people were spread out for the whole 3-mile span. Way to turn up, Everett! C & I talked about running up to Nanan's to paint, but his laundry wasn't done, and I was tired, so it was just fine with me that we didn't!
(4/20) Hoppy Easter! I made the boys spicy eggs and gave them their Easter baskets. We didn't do eggs this year or a hunt, which was different but a calm way to spent the morning. The twins and I headed out for the grands' house this morning and just missed the boat out. We got some snacks which assuaged some of the grumpies. The Easter Bunny had hit the grands' house and set up a candy hunt. J had a path and was ready to go right after lunch. He got quite the stash, though he was bummed his brother wouldn't trade with him. The afternoon turned on its head and was rough. I may just make plans for myself to visit next time. Shewie!
(4/21) I worked in the office today and Dad had the boys. Our kiddo is really struggling again so we kept him home today. They ended up going to pick up a very stressed pup at the shelter who really needed to get out of there. What a sweet beefcake he is!
(4/22) I worked in the building today. It was an all hands on deck type of day since we launched a new system. Compared to previous launches, I'd say this one went well!
(4/23) I went up to Nanan's to paint in preparation for the floors being installed this week. I really needed the brain break and just put on my book and worked for a few hours. We went for lunch and I took her grocery shopping. The boys were ready and waiting for their WinCo trip when I got home, and Dad took our pupper over to see S and drop dinner since they weren't able to come over tonight.
(4/24) I worked from home today. Our guy hasn't made it to school all week and has really been struggling. I'm calling him out tomorrow too and am taking the day off to take care of some things.
(4/25) I took the day off and we headed up to Nanan's to meet the flooring crew. They got started removing the old floor and I mowed the lawn. Nanan and our kiddo tried to go to the beach but never made it and it turned into a drive around the island. I had finished mowing and sat out in the sunshine while they were gone. The floor installers ended up needing to level the floor so will need to finish up on Sunday. Thankfully our guy was starting to feel a bit better and things are slowly beginning to creep in a positive direction.
(4/26) I went to the gym this morning and ended up crashing out this afternoon. Apparently I needed some sleep!
(4/27) The pupper and I went up to Nanan's to meet the contractors early this morning, but unfortunately the cement was still wet so they'll have to come back tomorrow. Argh! Our sweet foster boy was moved along to another home today. The rescue we work with is amazing and he needs more than we can give right now so they found him a different place. I am ready to pack my bags and go with him!
(4/28) I worked in the building and Dad saw the boys off to school today. Everybody made it, so we're calling today a win!
(4/29) I worked from home today so both Dad and I could attend an appointment for our kiddo. It was a heavy but productive appointment and we're hoping some changes will have our guy feeling better.
(4/30) Dad and I were off today. I ran up to Nanan's to see how the floors came out. They look so good!! This project has been a huge headache but the floor company has gone above and beyond. Happy to share a recommendation if you're in the area!
