Eighteen Months

(4/9) Work day for Dad & me, and Kathy has the kids. She took the littles out to try the sandbox and they thought it was yummy! Sounds like everyone had a good day.  Love coming home with happy boys!

(4/10) Poor D was having a morning.  He just kept falling or bonking into things and bursting into tears.  I don't think he was quite ready to get up this morning.  I ended up putting them down before Nanan got here to watch them so I could go volunteer at C's school.  They slept for most of the time I was gone and were both in very fun moods when I returned.  They have taken up yelling "D!" or "J!" when watching hockey and raising their hands above their heads.  It's a riot!  Most of the pics turned out blurry, but I got a couple of good ones of them all on the couch.

(4/11) 18 months!  I know I say this every update, but man, time flies.

Dad had the kiddos today, but I got to see them after dinner and for bedtime.  C's in a daddy stage, but the twins still get me for bedtime.  They run around, pull on the kitty (I'd say "poor kitty," but he goes right up to them and lays down in front of them. He's just asking for some heavy petting), and I attempt to read.  They sometimes steal the book I'm reading, or give me another, or just climb on me.  J will sit next to me with his own board book every now and then.  And that has to be the cutest thing ever!

(4/12) Today was long (for me, anyway).  Fridays are a work day for Dad & me, and Kathy had the kids.  She attempted coloring with the twins, and said when it was clear that they were done (eating the crayons, etc), that J absolutely fell apart when she picked up the crayons.  Yay, tantrums!

I fed the kids a quick dinner when we got home, turned around and it was bedtime.  I didn't last much longer than the kids did.  Thank goodness it's a sleep in day tomorrow.  Mama needs it!

(4/13) YAY for the weekend!  I so needed some sleep. The boys stayed down until after I had come in from my run and taken a shower.  They rarely sleep past 8, so this was a treat.  We had swim lessons for C in the am - D pulled J's hair from behind him in the stroller.  That was fun.  C was asked by his teacher if he'd like to try swimming across the deep end.  He got excited, but then decided he was all done and wanted to go home. I asked if he could jump off the diving board and then swim the deep end.  She said sure and he did it!! Yay!!  I had hoped we could stay and play at the park, but it started to rain, so we headed home to bake cookies instead.  That was a fiasco with littles running around.  J broke the dowel holding the kitchen drawers in place, and he can also wiggle it out of the handles, so I'm going to have to think of another solution to keep them out.  Anyway, we're out of baking soda, so I used powder, but incorrectly remembered that powder was stronger than soda, which resulted in very flat cookies.  I mixed some in belatedly, but it didn't mix well, so the second batch looked a little better.  And then I burned the third batch because I was trying to keep the twins *in* their high chairs instead of turning the lights off/on. Eventually it was nap time, and C went off to scrapbook with Sarah & Jordan.  Jor stayed to play after they were done and the littles took nice, long naps.  D slept until 4:30, and was exhausted by the time 7p rolled around.

(4/14) We totally lucked out with decent to niceish weather this morning for our family pictures!  I cannot wait to see how they turned out! We went to North Creek Park in Mill Creek, and were ridiculously early because I wasn't quite sure where we were going, and then drove straight to it.  I'm glad we went early today because this afternoon has been a mix of sun, pouring rain & hail. Dad and C are off to C's first Mariners game and they've sent me pics of them sitting in the sun.  Very nice!  I plan to have a quiet afternoon with the littles and maybe a walk, if the weather turns around.

(4/15) Happy tax deduction day!  I am at work, and Dad has the kiddos.
