Eastward Ho!

J&D (driving down a hill) ~
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

J: I really not definitely am going to do that!

J: I don't want to go swimming!
C: This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, so you should try to enjoy it!

J: You should not ride this train again!
Me: Why not?
J: I don't like this train because we got robbed!

Cousin Declan: I don't like Cars 3! (in the middle of a scary spot of the movie)

D: I had Granddad help me [get another s'more] so you didn't have to say no!

C: I wanna be unanimous!  (anonymous)

J: My brain is too confusing!

C: I like some physics in the world, and some not so much. Like, I don't like gravity!

(7/5) The twins and I hit the gym, and then we had Sarah and her boys over to play this afternoon.  I had a dental appointment later, so Nanan came and took the boys for ice cream before joining us for dinner.

(7/6) We're off on vacation today.  First up is the Tri-Cities to visit family. We got in early evening and popped in to visit Oma & Opa briefly after settling into our hotel room.  The big hit at Opa's house?  The exercise bike, of course.

(7/7) Today we had a blast with the cousins!  We went to Shakey's (pizza buffet and video games), and then went to see Cars 3.  C got to go for a late sushi dinner with Mat & Bridgette and the kids, and I took the twins down to swim and hopefully wear them out.

(7/8) Happy birthday, C!!  Double digits today AND, most importantly, the end of the 10-day ban on being in the water post appendectomy.  We started the morning off with a dip in the hotel pool, and then had dinner at Oma & Opa's with other relatives and friends we haven't seen in a while.  That was really lovely!

(7/9) Today we made our way to Idaho.  We are staying in an Airbnb in a little cabin along Wolf Lodge Bay. It was just two rooms with one bed in one room, and bunk beds in the other.  It had electricity, heaters, and a porch swing, and that's it.  And it was perfect!  The campground pool was under construction, so we took the kids to go play in Lake Coeur d'Alene. It was plenty hot, but I have to say we enjoyed the relatively "cool" weather of 99° to the Tri-Cities 106°.

(7/10) Silverwood day!  This was our first trip to Silverwood, and it was awesome! We did tons of rides, and our favorites were the bumper boats and Thunder Canyon.  I was all set to accompany the boys on the Timber Terror, and J looked at it and went "HUH-UH!" and then C decided he didn't want to do it if his brother didn't go.  LOL!  We gave them snow-cones instead. Maybe next time.  The water park was amazing - the kid play structure kept them occupied for hours, and I periodically would run them over to the lazy river.  We had a great day!

(7/11) We decided to meander on home today. We had a hike in mind, but ended up in long lines of pilot car escorted construction on our way, and just wanted the slog to end.  We did stop at a great Mexican restaurant we found in Wenatchee the last time we were out that way. It was so good to be home ~ the animals have missed us!  Even Jimmy was glued to my side, and he's normally pretty aloof unless it's dinner time.

(7/12) You know, I'm glad we came home a day early. It gave us a chance to get about fifty loads of laundry done, and I got to go to Zumba like normal. Plus we spent the afternoon at the lake with Sarah and her kiddo.  We're getting a lot of mileage out of our water toys this summer!

(7/13) We packed up this morning and headed to Wenberg Park to camp with grandparents and my brother's family.  We had so much crap that we ended up driving 2 vehicles.  We're not used to tent camping anymore! We haven't had a chance to get my new rig outfitted to bring the camper yet, but we have an awesome tent, so it all worked out.

(7/14) Today we spent out on the lake.  We played with all the toys, and J even operated his own kayak.  The kiddos swam and swam.  Dad went out fishing, and I monitored all our little fishies from the shore.  We came back to camp exhausted and a little burnt, but we had a blast!  We gathered for dinner at Grandma & Granddad's site.  They fed us well, and we all ate waaaaay too many s'mores.. because camping!

(7/15) We had a delicious pancake breakfast over at the grands' site.  Most of us were pretty cooked and laked-out today, so we stuck to the shade. We first hit the playground, then went out for subs, and then returned to the camp site to hang.  D went down with Granddad & Grandma to kayak around the lake. We again had dinner with the grands, and then enjoyed our time around the fire.

(7/16) Ahh, Sunday.  We're back to the grind tomorrow, so were up early to break camp, and then come home to get unloaded and prepare for the week ahead.
