9 months

(7/10) Text from Kathy: This is what the babies each just ate: 1/2 a banana, 1/4 of an avocado, 1/2 thick slice of blueberry bread, 1/2 oz turkey, 1/4 cup Cheerios, and a 1/2 peach!  We're in big trouble when they hit their teens.

(7/11)  Snuck out for a nice run this mornng.  Unfortunately, the boys woke up about ten minutes after I left and were wide awake when I returned and were ready for breakfast.  After breakfast, we piled in the car and headed to the doctor for the twins' 9 month appointment, only to be met at the door by the nurses saying that the doctor was on vacation today.  Wha?  It looked like nobody on the list of appointments for the day got the notice.  We're rescheduled for next week.  Since the twins didn't get shots, we were able to join the preschool group for a playdate at Paine Field Park!  So nice to get some time in the sun!  The boys did some serious napping in the afternoon... I'm talking a 4+ hour nap!  They still wanted to go down at regular time too.

(7/12) Dear J, those last few minutes before the alarm goes off are my favorite.  Please wait until the alarm before waking.  Kthxbai.

I fed J before I got ready to go, and then D started up just as I was leaving.  Poor Dad was up *early*.  The boys took nice naps for him though, and I even put J down for a power nap to make sure he made it to 9pm in hopes that he will sleep in tomorrow.

(7/13)  Oy.  And I thought 5:30am was early for J to be awake... this morning it was 4am.  Dad says if one more person asks him if the boys sleep today, he'll snap.

J had a low-grade fever all day today.  Kathy said both boys slept a lot and that J was especially cuddly.  I can tell he's not feeling himself... D out-ate him at dinner tonight.

(7/14) Another rough night of sleep.  I ended up giving D some ibuprofen because he was inconsolable at 3am.  Poor Dad was coming off a 12 hr day and had to work today, so he ended up leaving.  Thankfully, they did finally both knock off and didn't wake 'til the more respectable hour of 7:30.

D has a new top tooth and J has 3 buds (one top, two bottom).  Explains the rough nights!

The itty bitty swim committee came with me to C's lesson this morning.  D sat the entire time (yay!!) and periodically would reach over and pull J's hair.  LOL!  J stood on my lap and grinned at the ladies in the hot tub and had a great time.  They both took 4+ hour naps today.  I sure am hoping for some decent sleep tonight!

J greeted me today with "Dada!" when I came into the room.  And has called me 'Dada' all evening.  So cute when they start figuring out words.

(7/15)  We took C to the Day Out With Thomas today.  The boys did really well - D was fascinated with the trains and wanted to touch them as we walked between them, and then watched out the window until he couldn't keep his eyes open any more.

Looks like D got two new top teeth... so he's got 4 on top & 2 on the bottom.  Last night was a relatively good night of sleeping, yet they were still up 3 times each.  No wonder we're walking zombies.

(7/16) Happy Monday!

July 3rd-July 9th

J left; D right
(7/3) Work day for me.  I ended up getting off early, and got to come home and spend the afternoon with my boys ❤

(7/4) Happy 4th!  Such a lovely day! The babies slept in until 8a, which is always heavenly.  I did a lot of baking today while the babies napped and then took advantage of their afternoon nap to get in some weeding.  We went to Justin's house for a barbecue and fireworks in the evening.  The babies ate and ate and ate today, finishing off everything I brought for them, plus an entire hamburger bun I grabbed as finger food. I put them to bed in the basement, and the next time I checked on them they were out.  They missed the fireworks entirely, but we have been catching them all week thanks to our obnoxious neighbors that like to light them off around nap or bedtime....

D ❤
(7/5) Took today off and got to enjoy the wonderful summer weather that has finally arrived in Seattle!  Yay!  We took the boys to C's gymnastics class and then to the park after.  They were *TIRED* after all that and were crankin' quite a bit, but by the time we got home, they were back to their happy selves, so I gave them lunch and then put them down for a nap.

(7/6)  I worked today and Dad had the boys. They got to go to the park again ~ fun!  We tried watching a movie with them in the evening after I got home, but they were cranky so I ended up putting them to bed early.

(7/7) Mom fail.  I have been talking and talking about C starting swim on Saturday, but was thrown by the mid-week holiday and vacation day and it didn't dawn on me that today was Saturday until lessons were over... Sigh.  But, as a result, we had a quiet, relaxing day and the babies were able to take naps and lunch at leisure.

Happy J
(7/8) Happy Birthday to our oldest!!  C has a skating party today, so we'll be taking the herd to the Skate Deck this afternoon to celebrate.

J has two new teeth poking through ~ no wonder he's been biting everything!  He'll have 2 top & 4 bottom once these arrive.  C had 6 teeth by 8 months, so this shouldn't really surprise me, yet it still does...

D is sitting really well!  He's made huge strides with that skill this week! Yay, D!

(7/9)  Happy Monday!  The twins slept much better tonight than last.  Phew!  Thanks to my honey for letting me sleep the other night. I don't think I have slept so long since before they were born! Should keep me going for another few months!

June 26th-July 2nd

(6/26) Poor C must have the flu.  I came home early to a feverish boy that couldn't keep anything down.  He slept most of the day away and I tried to keep him apart from his brothers the best that I could.  I really don't want the little guys to get sick.

(6/27)  C is feeling much better, but couldn't hold down his breakfast.  We decided another day of rest would be a good idea.  We spent a quiet day in, even though it was beautiful. We did step outside for a popsicle and a little bit of work on the garden though.

(6/28) C was feeling well enough to go to gymnastics, so Dad hauled the troop out for that, and for some time at the park.  And this evening Granddad came over so Dad and I could have a date night!  Yay!  The twins had a rough go of it.  Once J gets tired, he's done and just needs to go to bed.  Well, in doing that, Granddad sneezed, which scared J and he just lost it.  But they were asleep when we got home, so we'll consider this a success.

(6/29) J is so cute!  He has figured out how to clap. He is sitting SO well too ~ for long periods of time.  He sometimes forgets that he is sitting and flings himself backward, but is generally doing well with his new skill.

(6/30) Rough night. D kept kicking Dad, and literally kicked him out of bed. I had a running date in the morning, so I woke him again at 7 to head out. Came back and was glad to see they had all gone back to bed for a bit. After everyone woke up, we had breakfast, and then went for a humid walk to Starbucks with Sarah & her boys.  It was nap time when we got home.  C still isn't feeling so great, so he and I chilled while the babies slept.

Looks like D is the proud owner of tooth #4!  That makes the boys even! 2 top & 2 bottom.

(7/1) Little boys woke up nice and early, so were ready for mid-morning naps before lunch.  They woke up not long after we had finished unloading groceries and then had lunch.  C & I went out to his friend's birthday party and Dad said they took nice, long afternoon naps while we were gone.  We had a yummy dinner together and before I knew it, it was bedtime again.

(7/2) Dear D, sleeping is a good thing.  You seem to enjoy it, so let's do away with the midnight screamfest?  Zzz.

Both Dad and I are working today, so Kathy has the kiddos. Hope they have a nice day.
