February 19th-25th

(2/19) Ugh.  I have caught the plague now too.  D was doing fine this morning, so Dad shipped the kids off to Kathy's.  But she called saying he had a fever again, so I picked him up early from work.

Kathy said D hardly ate all day, but he must have saved up his appetite. Between the little boys, they ate: 2 apple sauces, 1/2 can of black beans, pieces of chicken breast, a quesadilla, leftover rice, an avocado, an orange, and some cereal. And D keeps saying, "MMM-MMM."

(2/20) Yay, fevers for D & me!  But it was my day to volunteer in C's class, so I drugged myself and went anyway.  Last week was such a disaster when I didn't go, and we were having such a good day, I didn't want it to end.

The little boys took a long nap for the entire time I was gone (Nanan was here to watch them).  As the afternoon wore on, it got worse for me and I couldn't get warm, even under two sweatshirts.  On the upside, D is doing much better this afternoon and may be almost at the end of this!

I was so bummed to miss book club tonight. I just kept feeling worse and worse, and figured I better cancel and go next time.  Sigh.

This is not a brotherly-hug.  This is a 'get-
out-of-my-way' hug.
(2/21)  Dad had the boys today.  D is finally better, and I am down to the cold & cough portion of this.  Wee.

Night-night time around here is pretty funny.  As soon as I mention that it might be "toofy time," J comes running and they both run around with their toothbrushes (they won't sit for this), and I change their diapers and get them ready for bed.  Then we head upstairs.  Any deviation from this routine is met with lots of yelling from J.

(2/22) Work day for Dad & me.  The boys went to Kathy's and are finally both fever free.  YAY!

J & C crawl-race around the island.
J eats books.  Literally... so we watch him.
(2/23)  It is rough to be a D.  He had the blanket all wound around his head this morning and was definitely not ready for prime time when we went in.  We came down, had breakfast, and then it was time for hockey.  C pitched a fit about going and escalated once we were there.  I had just gotten the twins back in the van and was ready to leave when he said he wanted to try again... so back down we went.  I fed the twins lunch and walked them around, pretty much ignoring C throughout practice.  J fell asleep and D was gruuuuumpy, until we got back into the van where he could finally fall asleep.  D slept from the end of hockey (12:20p) until 5p!  J, on the other hand, was wide awake after his hockey nap and played like a wild man until 3:30p and then went down until D woke up.  We then had dinner, bath, and bed.

J can now climb on the couch, so we have to find a new hiding spot for things like Mom's coffee, computer cords and TV remotes.  Yay.

They used to have a board book with three sound buttons at the bottom.  The sound bar has since broken off, and they both treat it as their phone.  I'll try to get video - but they say, "Hello! Yeah? Yeah? K."  Pretty cute.

(2/24) Dad took C to hockey, and the twins and I are hanging out this morning.  It's nice to have some quiet time with them, especially since their older brother has been so very *on* lately.

C decided to give himself a haircut this afternoon while the twins were down and I was out on a run.  So they're off trying to salvage that.  I have to say that I'm glad C doesn't save all the fun stuff for just me.

The little bits are dancing fools today.  I have the music cranked and we're having a mini dance party.

(2/25) Monday. Back to work for me and the boys are with their dad.
